I talklked to Denison brewer Micheal Hancock on the weekend and he said the smoked marzen would be on tap for a couple of weeks. It seems he recieved smoked malt by mistake from his malt supplier in Bamberg,Germany, the home of Rauchbier. Micheal said this is not as intense as the Aecht Schlenkerla ...

Perry, I just read your post about brewing a I.P.A to replace the portor in the summer months, I hope this dosen't replace the session Ale as I love this beer for its low alchol content and the British hops you use in it. While I like beers that are brewed with American Hops(ie Cascade, Chinnok) it ...

Anyone who wants to try Czechvar(aka Budweiser Budvar) it is available at the Davisville LCBO. I first tried this beer in Scotland last fall, and I think the beer we got here was as good as the version I had last year. Don't expect this beer to taste like Pilsner Urquel,it is more malt accented. FYI...

I agree that Ontario has a better imported beer selection than Quebec, but I would still like to see beer sold in independant store as it seemed when I was in Montreal that you could buy Quebec Micros in most depanneurs ( corner stores), also it was neat to find a store in Atwater market that sold o...

On the last week of August I went fishing on the Tay River near Perth Ontario. After I had caught 3 small mouth bass, my cousin and myself had dinner in a pub in Perth(which is close to Carleton Place) and I had a pint of Hart Amber Ale. I was under the impression that Hart was out of business, yet ...

Last night I was down at C'est What and discovered that they stock the 341 mL bottle of Trois Pistoles. I think that this is Unibroue's finest beer and appreciate that C'est What decides it is worth the effort to bring this beer to Ontario drinkers. If you happen to be in Montreal and would like to ...

Hi A, you mentioned Bell's Expedition Stout. Back in 1999, when I was on visiting my brother in Detroit, I picked up a six pack of this beer and found it quite sweet. I am now cellering this beer in the hope that it will become dry. Does anyone know if this is possiable or should I just drink my rem...

I think that Liberty Ale is the Hoppiest I.P.A in the Ontario market right now. I think that when a new beer is released the L.C.B.O. gives it a year to achieve acceptable sales levels and then decides whether to keep it on General list. While I don't know what they would consider acceptable sales I...
