Re: Market Brewing Company - Bear Hug IPA Preview

Love the look of that IPA. I'm at work and busy later this evening so might not get a chance to see your review. How was it? What's it's stack up against compared to other Ontario IPA's? Cheers There are two other IPA that I enjoyed, the Hopbot IPA and Flight Delay IPA. What differentiates this IPA...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

stone xocoveza - sipping on this right now. tons of different flavours. sweetness kept in check with some heavy cocoa-coffee bitterness. a really fun beer to drink! lacking in body though Had this last night and didn't enjoy it at all and I'm not a shy beer drinker. Maybe it was my palate, or maybe...

Re: The Exchange Brewery

I want to be clear that these guys make fantastic beer and they have niche in NOTL. Just the price points don't fit my budget too well.

To be honest it's not 100% one and done. If i'm in town I'd still drop in for a pint.

Re: The Exchange Brewery

My problem with this brewery is the prices. You're going to have a very expensive night there even if you just want to sample beers. At $3 a pop for samples you'll be paying more then you would at some of the beer fests out there. I also feel like I paid extra for the ambiance and silly 750ml wine ...

Re: The Exchange Brewery

Dropped in last night and I pretty much enjoyed all the beers I tried. A few were quite top notch beers. My favorite of the night was the Flanders Red ale followed by the Belgian Golden ale. I'm amazed more brewers don't take a chance on these styles. They are so drinkable in any situation but I wou...

One year anniversary tonight from 3pm - 9pm. Think I'm finally gonna make a trip out there.

Anyone been recently?

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

18 Hands was beyond foul imo. Funny, I had one today and quite liked it. Best Amsterdam beer I've had in a while. To each his own I guess. I am a fan of these lager-ale hybrids and this one got the balance just right, for me. Maybe having my expectations lowered helped, too. I'm not a amsterdam bas...

Re: LCBO Winter Craft Beer Release 2016

Old Rasputin, Stone Russian Imperial Stout, Stone Xocoveza and Stone Double bastard were all added to the LCBO database! No sign yet of Orval or Westmalle. Also a Silversmith Black Lager from NOTL. Silversmith black lager is ridiculously popular in the Niagara Region. It's a good beer but style wis...

Sierra Nevada Recall

I think it's just in the USA for now but figured I'd post it anyways.

They can still hit home runs on the specialty beers but the regular lineup is no Bueno :-)
Agreed with Maverick and Gose. I thoroughly enjoyed that beer however 18 Hands was beyond foul imo.

Glad to hear that's your current intention, but ... every business (asset) has a price
My first thought too. I've never heard of anyone turning away a dump truck full of money (should that theoretically happen) .

Re: FOMO strikes at Qaud-er to beer o'clock

At home: Ommegang Three Philosophers... That is one very big bottle of Quad-ness... I think I will get into that one soon. I've only had one or two (still tasty) small-size bottles that were likely not fresh, I think from a gift pack. Great brewery. I don't always like that bottle size format but I...
