As happens periodically, there has been some sort of distribution foul up with Belgian Peches with most of the order still sitting in the warehouse in Durham. I contacted the LCBO yesterday asked them what had happened and they gave no explanation just "we'll try to get it out today". How...

I wonder if the stockpiling of liquor will cause a spike on over-consumption and result in more traffic casualties... On such a point, as "responsible retailers" the LCBO encourage erratic buying behavior, despite their alleged value of preventing other undesirable consumption (among kids ...

Are you set for an LCBO strike?

I know I am. I could coast for months on what's in my cool basement closet, so I won't worry for the near future. Actually won't beer stores supply people with an alternative? And the bars would be happy if people got out more, as would brewery and winery stores - hey it's like cultural initiative a...

Hurry up and grab a few six-packs of Black Oak, guys. They need our beer money put to a good cause!

Le Chavel Blanc sp. Cheval Blanc (= White Horse.) Quebec City has few disappointments, but be sure to also look around the lower town for restaurants, etc. Try the Tarte Lapin (rabbit pie) and Caribou Stew (seasoned with maple.) Creperie Cote Breton has nice fast crepes for any time of day, I usual...

Re: Corporal Punishment in bottles?

I am toying with the idea of bottling the Corporal Punishment and putting it into the LCBO system. I would appreciate any feedback you can give me before I make my decision. Cheers! Perry Haven't tried the Corporal yet, would buy it if you took the trouble to bottle. Is that the feedback you mean? ...

It cost me $21.25 for the 12 pack. I guess I should've waited one more day then I'd have read JWalter's review and wouldn't have bothered with it. It might grow on you. :-? Most beers do a bit. But I'm pretty feisty with buying singles at LCBO stores. I snagged out a single Coffee Porter from a pac...

Surprising how easy it is to slide back that 'big bottle' of that stout.

I wonder if it would taste the same in 330ml bottles. They say large bottles of wine age better so maybe there's some physics at work here.

I found the Yellow Snow Juniper Pale Ale very nice too. And I'm glad the Chocolate Stout will be making a comeback - I just knocked off a nicely aged bomber of the stuff last week-end & it was killer. Try giving it over half a year to integrate. Rogue beers are so interesting even if they confou...

I'm having the Rogue Half-a-Weizen now. The initial tastings were pretty cold so there wasn't much coriander flavour but I did notice the ginger which I don't care for. I don't dislike it but at the same time I don't like it either. Sort of leaning towards a slightly negative indifference.8) 0 The ...
