I found it enjoyable....a drinkable dunkler bock at 7%, you can enjoy a couple. It was similar in flavor profile to a single bock I brew that ends up with 6.8% abv. If there is a fault in this Amsterdam brew it's that it could have used some toasted wheat or oats to bulk up the body a tad...it has a...

I prefer an unfiltered beer and this is a good one....actually a very good one verging on great. If it has a fault it's that some of the complex nuances of tree IPA did not transfer to the imperial unfiltered version. I'm not sure if it was the brewer's intent to double the intensity and retain the ...

Yeah but the houses of the holy are built on foundations of myth.

Hop City Happy Hour Ale

HCB (AKA Moosehead) has a new brew out and circulating...I have sampled it twice now but I'm opening up this thread to see what bartowlers think of it.

Remember be objective

There's something fundamentally perverse about a province that bans happy hour....it's not even done in Moscow.

After a second bottle I have validated my first impression of this brew...no it's not akin to Duvel, not even close....if anything this collaboration stumbled (unintentionally?) on a supercharged more full bodied version of Orval. Big malts, big spices and hop complexity in a spritzy champagne-like ...

Yes, awesome brews... and I'm glad someone is doing some SERIOUS craft lagers. This is what attracted me to this brewer. 5 years ago I made the pilgrimage to the brewery and was totally impressed with the methods and raw materials used. Been my favorite Canadian brewer ever since...certainly the on...

Gambrinus opening

Made the grand opening night...Smash Bomb was flowing like water but I was just in time to see Adil and Milos hooking up the Randall to a tap line and stuffing the infuser chamber full of Amarillo cones and a chunk of raw honey...that lager never tasted so good!!...I had a couple of pints....can't w...

Finally got the tripel and Little Korkny last night ....I'll sample them later as I have a lot of other beer to try in the cue. My impressions of the IPA and stout were that they were good and had a character deep and unique enough to make them stand out as well crafted beers. The Julebryg is a Dani...

It's in the stores and reasonably priced for a 10% limited release. Finished one last night with some cheese and crackers. Impressed, but will wait till I've tried it a few times to offer an opinion of exactly what we got here. At first sip it seems like a heady champagne....fruity, dry, sparkling b...

My Sam Adams Utopias (gratis) tasting glass arrived today. I have to congratulate Sam Adams for their consumer appreciation sense in following up on the Utopias purchaser list. Great PR and a slick way to make customers feel appreciated. Anyway, the glass is a cool unstemmed, squat version of the tu...

Recently I've had several sugary (Amber), buttery (DEA), and plastic/smoky (Copper) pints from them, even though the bottles at the 'BO taste fine. The tastes of green poorly conditioned beer maybe? I've had bottles of their brew (and ither local brewers) with these off tastes of young beer and aft...

Re: Norrebro Bryghus Little Korkny Ale

There is no value to be found in Little Korkney Ale. However, imo this beer blows all the Ola Dubh series, including the similarly priced 40, out of the water. Maybe I'm a sucker for big sippers as I absolutely adored this and Thomas Hardy's as well. ...if the taste was worth the price ...then you'...
