Maybe it's because it was one of the beers that got me into craft in the first place, but it's a quintessential witbier for me. Love the stuff.

Am I the only one who finds this hilarious, given the building's previous occupant?

+1 on a spicy strong pale Belgian beer. I often have a Fin du Monde with my turkey (either at Thanksgiving or Christmas) and it works really well.

The Manx pretty much always has this beer on tap and it's consistently been in good form. I hope the bottled version does well.

Just wanted to mention that the bottle of Porter Baltique I bought in Montreal a few weeks ago was amazing. Slight tart cherry flavour, but that just added to the deliciousness.

Agreed. The first times I tried John By and Corporal's Bitter Brown they were both fantastic. Sadly they were not quite as good in subsequent years, but there's some very good recipes sitting there.

Tried my first beer from them this summer; the Oro de Calabaza. It was fucking fantastic and I am saddened I've not tried anything else from them. Such delicious wild yeast flavours.

I'm hoping I can pick up a couple of the new ones. I tried the old 17 last winter and found it had a slight sour candy flavour and some noticeable oak tones (somewhat reminiscent of Rodenbach Grand Cru). The slight sourness could have been the result of less-than-ideal storage conditions (they were ...

Wrote an exam in Aeroacoustics today and needed a few beers afterwards. Nothing too special tonight.

L'interdite from Brasseurs du Monde
AMB Blanche Belge
Tankhouse

Next one's gonna be a bit more special... either Chimay Bleu or Benelux Grande Armada Reserve.

I'd also like to know... I feel like it was an ok stout I tried when I was in Michigan.
I didn't notice the New Holland logo earlier. It's New Holland The Poet oatmeal stout.
Riiiiight, windmill, should have noticed that.

Re: Beau's Mr. Hyde

it was my favorite at the Beau's Octoberfest as well. Agreed! I liked the Smokin' Banana Peel and the PumpkinWeisse, but neither would work as a session beer. This one was really well balanced and simply had great flavours going on. Was sad they didn't have any growlers (left?) at the brewery when ...
