I was at the Brewery on Friday. Did the tour and came home with some. Excellent as usual! My wife was working in Barrie that day so it was great knowing I had a DD for the drive home!

I had the Spruce beer over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I found the molassas really comes through with a hint of something else, which I would put down to being the spruce.

I had bought three and drank 1. Might pick up a few more.

I like Wychwood Bah Humbug. A nice tasting beer and I do like the sentiment of the name.

I like how Wvrst has a large white board near the windows, showing their beers, specials and the date the draft lines were last cleaned. More places should show that.

Book - Brewing in Ontario

I am sure I saw a post about this book on this site but can not find it. "The Art and Mystery of Brewing in Ontario" I just got it from the library and have only read the introduction and had to laugh at the final paragraph. Keep in mind this was written in 1988. " Relaxed provincial ...

Drake Beer Garden

http://www.thedrakehotel.ca/_ftp/menus/1109_Drake_Hotel_Beer_Garden.pdf The Drake's Sky Yard has a beer garden on Thursday to Saturday nights 'til December 3. Draughts look pretty standard except for the BLANCHE DE CHAMBLY. Bottles are more interesting. I like the 99 cent pickled eggs. Takes me back...

Why would you do that when it is going to be available local

Impatience!

Also it depends on what I find available while there. There will also be dark rum coming home that we can't get here.

Damn!

I'm going to be in Nova Scotia next week and was looking forward to having this fresh on tap along with their Imperial IPA. I did notice their website still lists the Hopyard though.

I hope the Oktoberfest Brau is now available. Want to bring some back with me

I loved it! My three bottles disappeared over the long week-end. I am hoping to get some more if any are left over. I don't usually post links to my Blog on this site, but as this was a special beer, here is my post on the CASScadian http://ourboozereviews.blogspot.com/2011/09/beer-of-week-bar-towel...

I picked up mine this morning. Apparently I was the first. Going to crack one open tomorrow. Thanks again Lackey and Great Lakes for a great day and Jon for having such a great idea.

Also good luck to Great Lakes tonight at the awards

I remember back in the late 60's, yes I'm up there in age, my dad sending me to the fridge to get him a beer. He drank 50. I would snap the top and take a whiff. I loved the bitter aroma. Then I would take a sip, then would go and give dad his beer. "They're not filling these as high as they us...

Inaugural Sunnyside RibFest (Aug 11-14)

I saw this on Yelp but the website link for this event does not work. Does anyone know whether there are going to be any craft brewers at this event?

I'm going to post pictures on the Facebook Bar Towel 10th Anniversary page. I post to Flickr too if we get a common area. In the meantime my write-up on the afternoon is at http://ourboozereviews.blogspot.com/201 ... w-day.html
