Re: BT buttons?
This was mentioned in a another thread, but maybe it's worth at least starting the discussion. Once when I was talking with Cass, he said that one of the reasons why he ran events was so that the Bar Towel, could get "offline", and there would be face-to-face interaction in this community...

The vanilla in my stout faded a lot over the last few days. I had a few people try it over the weekend and they all said they got more coffee than anything else off of it. Just goes to show you really need to give it time to settle before drawing conclusions. It got good reviews too, I'm pretty plea...

That may have been the point. My girlfriend is involved in a company that's thinking about doing exactly that for free national exposure. Lots of companies do that. Free publicity is usually a much better deal for the companies than generally unfavourable investments. I get the feeling the Dragons ...

2 beans in the secondary of a 5 gallon batch. It had to stand up to 8 oz. chocolate nibs and three cups of coffee. I did the coffee by cold brewing it and only dumping the extract, not the grounds, into the secondary. If I were to do it again I would want more coffee. Best way to add coffee is to c...

I'm sampling my stout now. It's not bad, but I'm finding the vanilla a little overpowering. Will that fade with time? I think it still needs a little more bottle conditioning to be at it's peak, so I'll probably try another on the weekend sometime. Yeah, vanilla will fade eventually. How much vanil...

I support those pricey 500ml Bellwoods bottlings on principle, there's a PITA factor to barrel aging and I appreciate the quality results of some of their experiments (and aren't they taking some risks with each new one?) I also think the best barrel flavor extraction is just a one-time thing, in h...

Re: New non-LCBO/TBS beer releases
I've always thought it would be good to have a thread just for talking about new releases coming from the breweries that aren't going to be in the LCBO or Beer store. Am I alone on this? Anywho, Bellwoods is talking big about the new berliner weisses they're releasing on Thursday: ...the surprise t...

Sawdust City just tweeted that the bloody long dark voyage (raspberry LDVU) and Futhered Muzzy (a Belgian brown) just came off the line, so I assume they're available in bottles shortly. And where does one purchase these? Various pubs and bars, I assume. I've occasionally had luck chatting up beer ...
