More of this please LCBO!

Re: New Limberg Brewing Company
Can't say that I've tried (or even heard of) New Limburg, but the Belgian focus was enough for me to look them up. Worth noting that their name is spelled with a "u" and so their website is http://newlimburg.com/ Would be interested to hear from anyone who's tried their beers - the blond ...

Re: Habits to be nano brewing
You'll probably find lots at Habits to pair their saisons with. My experience with saisons is basically summed up by Brooklyn Brewery brewmaster, Garret Oliver's book The Brewmaster's Table: "If I were forced to choose one style to drink with every meal for the rest of my life, saison would hav...

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?
Total guess (but everything's a total guess with this process, it seems), but maybe the 7.1% limit was chosen to partly help ensure that business for the LCBO's "Vintages-like" craft beer zones remains as strong as they're hoping and isn't undercut by enterprising grocers, like the one wh...

Best non-Toronto, non-LCBO breweries?
(Apologies for the Toronto-centric post...) I've been wondering lately what folks would consider the best breweries in Ontario that a) aren't from Toronto (e.g. Bellwoods), and b) don't have wide LCBO distro (e.g. Great Lakes). Basically -- if you had a weekend and couldn't leave Ontario, what brewe...

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?
Don't bother stopping in at the grocery store on your way home from work to pick up some beer -- the rations will have already been distributed amongst the pleebs.

Re: Great Lakes
Citradiction is back in their retail fridge today at 3:30. So for those of us without cars, is there any reasonable way to get there by transit or bike from central Toronto? Transit looks like 50 minutes each way. Biking is reasonable at just under half an hour, but Google Maps tells me to follow t...

Re: Burdock
I don't know anyone in who lives in downtown Toronto who measures time by how long it takes to drive it, especially when one is talking about anything alcohol-related. Only walk/bike/transit time. But I guess I'm friends with a bunch of poor people who don't own cars.

Re: Toronto Visitors - Cocktail Recommendations
Both Northwood (Bloor and Christie Pits) and its sister location Northern Belle (Dundas and Grace-ish) have very nice cocktails and pretty solid beer (mostly bottles -- the taps aren't stellar) lists. Also, all bottles are $2 off between 5-7pm (every day, I believe).

Re: The Bellwoods Brewery Release Thread
I agree that there isn't any taste connection. I don't think there is meant to be. Barn Owl is a series of blends, which I gather may well be wholly different from one another. Whether using a common name is a good marketing approach or not is another matter. Ren Bellwoods has taken the same approa...

Re: New non-LCBO/TBS beer releases
only had a few Rainhard beers and they were all good, but nothing really stuck out to me aside from the imperial stout, whatever it's called. I'm drinking the imperial stout right now on tap (at Tequila Bookworm -- $5 for 15oz til 5pm) and it doesn't have a name. It's really impressing me. Would lo...
