Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

LCBO Beer Watch twitter reports that St. Louis Fond Tradition Kriek and Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere now are on the LCBO site, but no stock showing yet I can't remember. Was it the St. Louis Fond tradition Kriek that was really terrible? I remember a Kriek a couple years ago from the LCBO that was so sw...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

The apricot jelly king was in the bottle shop this weekend. Not sure it ever made the website or any sort of announcement. I tried it...it's interesting, a bit like alcoholic apricot juice. Refreshing, but maybe too much apricot for me. I think I prefer the normal jelly king a bit.

Re: Halo Brewery

not to talk about Bandit on a Halo thread (and someone should start a Bandit thread, please and thanks), . I already did start a Bandit thread: http://www.bartowel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=10551 I went there during their soft-opening week. Out of the newest 3 entrants Halo was the best, B...

Re: Halo Brewery

It is as people above have said. They're not quite there on system knowledge yet, but I think they will be eventually. Give 'em a couple months and they'll be very solid. I like it when brewers know what the problems that they have are and are willing to own up to them. In Halo's case, they already...

Re: Halo Brewery

Anyone try the IIPA yet? I'm curious if they've gotten better with their hoppier beers. It's just far enough away, that it's hard to justify a trip.

Thank you for shopping at the LCBO, we realize you have a choice in liquor stores....oh wait, never mind, you don't.

Re: The Brew Box - home-delivered craft beer

I found a flyer for The Brew Box ( https://www.thebrewbox.co/ ) on my porch this morning. Some interesting stuff but that's a lot of coin. Basically it's at least $5 per tall boy...taken from the Sawdust City $60 example. Their cheapest mixed brewery pack is $70 for "approximately 4 litres of ...

Re: Henderson Brewing Co

this is the brewery for those who like Batch but don't want to be totally affiliated with a macrobrewery. everything about Henderson's stinks of macro stench. sorry to be so blatant, but they give me the heebie jeebies. looks like they edited the bios on their website, but everyone came from macro....

Henderson Brewing Co

Just starting a thread on the new Henderson Brewing Co. http://www.hendersonbrewing.com They had a very soft launch over the May 24 weekend. At the time of the visit, they just had one beer on tap, the "Best", which is a perfectly competent, albeit a bit malty, ESB. Poking around the space...

Re: Halo Brewery

if you're a hophead, i'd expect their hoppy beer to be near the top of what's being done in toronto. big words, i know. but the only obstacle i'd see them having is knowing their system. otherwise, as you can see from their website, their beer's currently fruit focused. Actually, IMO, their hoppy b...

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing

I believe I tried the Immodest IIPA at boxcar social yesterday, incredible aroma even when it was just being poured. Nice spot just off on Boulton Ave, in the flourishing Queen and Broadview district. Have they fixed their pricing? I went in shortly after they opened and they were essentially charg...

Re: LCBO Summer Craft Beer Release 2016

I know I keep saying this, and I figure I will continue saying it anyway: The LCBO is not designed for Beer Sales and never was. It's like criticizing a subway for not reaching 30,000 ft. ... If the subway had a government mandated monopoly on flying, I guess. Exactly, that's the problem! It turns ...

Re: Beer for non-craft drinker guests?

it's time to start auditions for the Summer of 2016 easy drinking beer. all macros are out of course, but maybe pseudo-macros (mill st, creemore, granville, goose island) would be acceptable. If you're looking for non-craft beers, why toss out all the macros? I think you might be substituting your ...

Re: 2009 Utopias in original box with Riedel glass in case and Jim Koch letter , bottle 03389

I'm actually more annoyed at people just coming to use this forum for a one-off trade. This thread is especially egregious and annoying. I would suggest that the trading forum be closed to users with less than a certain number of posts? Maybe 25 posts or something before being allowed to trade? That...
