Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). I was at C'est What last night and a guy came to the bar and I heard him ask about the 10W30. He said that he never ordered it because he thought it would be really "heavy and dark". The bartender explained that yes, it is dark, but not heavy at all, and we both described it as an excellen...

Ahh, the Baron. That beer saved me many times at places that had a lousy bottle selection, The Rivoli and The Horseshoe coming to mind. Actually, the 'Shoe's bottle selection now isn't half bad for a live venue.

C'est What usually has a Wellington product on cask, Arkell Best Bitter being the mainstay. A little bit east of your hotel is Betty's (at King and Sherbourne) and they also have Arkell on cask as well as a healthy selection of taps.

You could be right Greg, but even if not, they've owned the building since the 70's I believe, and they have apartments upstairs that help with the bills That being said, I don't think the owners spend a dime on upkeep. It's dirty and dim, and if and when I go there I stick to bottled beer. They don...

I just had the pleasure of returning all my summer\fall\early winter empties to the Brock St. beerstore. Most of the empties were ST and DFH. Price hike or not, there just isn't any bottle offering in Ontario that packs in the hops like those 2 beers. I'd love it if Hop Addict was bottled because I ...

I don't go the cask events at Volo because of the crowds. I don't like Volo when it's packed. If Cask Days were moved to a bigger venue, I'd gladly go.

I was at the Dominion on Queen (www.dominiononqueen.com) last night and chatted with the rep\owner\brewmaster from Great Lakes. Can't recall his name due to the pints of 666 I had imbibed but I do remember him saying that he had just delivered a fresh keg of the Winter Ale to C'est What a day or two...

Re: New Ontario Brews (what would you like to see?)

ESB - Hockley Valley or Neustadt please make an ESB I think I remember tasting a Neustadt bitter at the the previous 2 C'est What festivals, but it would be nice if they bottled it. I had a couple of the Double Fuggles on cask the other night and it seems to have changed to more of a bitter style -...

I was at Betty's last night and they have Arkell Bitter back on cask, although they had run out of their current supply. Kinda stopped drinking that one for awhile but I'd like to see how it tastes these days.

Jeez, that beats the cheapest pitcher I'm aware of, that being $12 at The Rhino.

Not defending them? Right. And even though the poster was talking about Fionn MacC's, you managed to drag The Biermarkets into it. Hell, why not include East Side Mario's or Casey's? Same owner. "Great assortment of domestic...beers..." Really? 'Cause the last time I was in a Fionn's, I di...
