I too was at the Jays game - great game, awful beer. I did manage to find cans of Sleeman at one of the lounges, which helped a bit. After the game we went to a little bar on Spadina with an awful beer selection - should've gone with some hard liquor but I made the mistake of ordering a Blue. Never ...

Actually, I was at The Rhino after my ballgame last night and they carry Brooklyn India Pale Ale, Wiess, Pennant Ale, a brown Brooklyn beer and a strong (9%) Brooklyn offering. 'Course they don't neccessarily have all those beers at any one time. The Pennant Ale was pretty good, but not up there wit...

Earlier in the summer when I was still patronizing The Rhino, I saw Brooklyn IPA on their bottle list and ordered a couple. Excellent beer, but it was gone the next time I asked for it and I haven't seen it since. Has anybody else come across it?

Nothing - I'm at work damnit but I'm going to pick up some Stuarts based on the recommend's here. Heading up to Lake Superior on Saturday, and it sounds like a good campfire beer. To go with the single malts.
BTW, any good drinking spots in Wawa? Just kidding.

Finally I went to Mill Street Pub and got a pint of Stock Ale for the same price I get it at any pub in the city. If they make the stuff shouldn't it be a little cheaper? Just an after thought. The Mill St. Brewpub isn't owned by the brewery. It is owned by the same group that owns The Pourhouse, F...

Yeah, but nothing good. He got a stop work order on his patio, and now the city is hassling him about a spare room in the bar. So it's off to the Committee of Adjustments etc. He's getting a little bitter about it, 'cause he's looking at a long delay. Velo, I assume you mean you're a little fed up w...

A friend and I wandered into the C&T a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the place. I had a couple of fresh Black Oak Pales and chatted with the owners about the bar and what they want to do with it. It's a friendly, unpretentious place that has me thinking of switching my west-end allegiance fro...

"Sleeman is Sapporo Japan's brand now, not John Sleeman's" Yup, but he's still the annoying voice of representation. I've never really gone to the District for anything more than the brewpub. It certainly is harder to find a seat in there now but thanks to the staff and the extended Mill S...

The whole thing probably wouldn't bug me as much as it does if I didn't already detest the tired and smarmy "John Sleeman and his grandfather's recipe" shtick , which seems to be on some radio stations every 10 minutes or so. I haven't had a Sleeman product in about a decade and this lates...

"You know who else was even more efficient? The Nazi's. Maybe TBS is run by neo-Nazi's? "

WTF? Your hyperbole is undermining your crediblity. That is a ridiculous comparison, emoticons or not.

Turns out it's most of the coaching staff, 'cept for Brad Arnsberg, architect of the diastrous A.J. Burnett acquisition. It's window dressing. Probably won't affect a thing. I love the Jays, but they're over-rated in many ways and ill-equipped for the AL east. But...ST is in stores...?! That'll make...

Talk about timing - I just had a taste of this last night at The Rhino. A friend was commenting on the sediment in my pint of Hop Head (cask) and telling me how cloudy the Coopers is. Had a taste of his and yeah, nothing special, but he likes the extra kick and drinkability factor.

"Agree completely. I'm not sure why I've never tried this one before. I'm sad to admit that I killed the whole sixer, it was damn good. :lol"

Thanks for the heads up. I've passed by that one many times, yet never tried it. I drink my share of Hop Addict, so I'll try the Signature too.

Any updates on how the bar's coming?

...lol...maddeningly slowly. Talked him a couple of days ago and he's not happy with the way his contractors have built things, so he's got some renovating to do. No set beer list yet, but he's on the right track.

Not to get anyone's hopes way up, but a guy at Cooper St. said "any day now" when I asked about ST at lunch today.
Whatever that means...
