Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

In the article it talks about incorporating the new location as a different company. The only draw back would mean they couldn't sell beer made there at their original location. But they could sell the beer made there at the onsite store, and to bars and as a "guest beer" at their brew pu...

guess the 'BO decided to reverse their stance on the label? remember when this could be found around ultra cheap if you knew which stores to go in and ask for it... hidden in the back room of course. You're talking about the Tremens, I assume? It's going to be at the Beer Store, not the LCBO. So th...

Stupid law which I'm 100% against, but wouldn't another option be to only sell out of the new location and have the Ossington location just a brewpub with no shop? That would be an option, yes - but would piss off a lot of the locals (including me) who buy bottles there regularly. Which I get the i...

While I suspect most people will be busy with TBW events - those who aren't might be interested to know that Duggan's is doing a couple of "pop-ups" tonight and tomorrow.

They clearly needed to do something to reinvigorate the brand. I'm glad they reached into their history book v.s. just giving us a Guinness Lime. Well, it's not QUITE Guinness Lime - but at the same time they are releasing these historic style beers in the UK & Ireland, their newest product in ...

BJCP is always a good resource for stylistic guidelines. http://www.bjcp.org/2008styles/style06.php#1c Overall Impression: A clean, crisp, delicately balanced beer usually with very subtle fruit flavors and aromas. Subdued maltiness throughout leads to a pleasantly refreshing tang in the finish. Th...

This is only the second year it's been held in Toronto. I think it sold out in a minute or so last year.

Re: LCBO Macro Price Jumps

Examples, 24 of Rolling Rock up $3, 12 pack of Bud Crown up $3.55, etc. Huh? Last I checked, the LCBO didn't sell any beer format larger than a 6 pack. Why do they have listings for 12s & 24s? Some rural stores and agency stores carry the larger formats Ah, right - I knew that, just slipped my ...

Re: Underdog's - All or Nothing Hopfenweisse

Tried this at the CNE and was pleasantly surprised. Really nice traditional flavours for the style, but with some added juiciness and some hop bitterness in the mix. I gather this is a new Oshawa brewery, and this is their only beer so far. So far so good! Yeah, I tried this at TFOB, and we really ...

A bot of Googling shows that they had a beer on the Indie/Bar Hop boat cruise as well. Maybe affiliated to Bar Hop somehow?

I noticed it's now labelled as a double IPA at 8.1% abv. It was previously labelled as an IPA at 7.3% abv. I'm curious if it tastes any different. Interesting - didn't know about the change, but it's been split on RB: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/green-flash-west-coast-ipa-2013/44905/ http://www.ra...

I've gotten confirmation that this will be the same pack as last year - i.e. three bottles each of Pumpkin Ale and Oktoberfest.
