Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). I notice on the bill they charged bottle deposit. So I'm safe to take these empties to the beer store and they won't tell me they don't take American bottles? I'm enjoying the Gemini and Uber Sun I ordered. Thanks! You can certainly return your empties to the Beer Store. We do it quite often, with ...

I swear this is one of the signs of the beerpocalypse where people fall into this trap of macro swills making "interesting" beers to draw their slavish customers away from actual good quality beers like the actual import that is on style or anything competently made from any microbrewery i...

I very much enjoyed Gingerman and Hop Devil when i was in NYC last may. Bonus on Hopdevil is the overall east village vibe and the proximity to McSorley's Ale house so you can swing by and partake in the "tradition" of the light or the dark. Had a nice meal at South Street Seaport Heartlan...

I definitely want to attend, but won't be able to take a day off which means my plan is the same as last year with the Train to Montreal Friday night, All-Day Saturday at Mondiale, brewpubs and such in the evening, Sunday back at the fest then the train home. Last year was my first, and i very much ...

I enjoyed the Dark Horse the few times I have been there but it was just okay. Mackenzies by High Park station has decent food, but the tap list is lacking. Had some Wellington stuff in bottles for a while, not sure if they still do. They haven't had Welly the past few times i have stumbled next do...

No need, if Cole's past festivals are anything to go by, there will be a large Toronto/Bartowel contingent in the bar partaking in the festival!!

The way my day at the office has gone, tomorrow can't come soon enough!!

I would've proposed that it's because of all the investing in sponsorship they've done, which could equal name recognition. But that's probably over with. A quick Google search tells me they no longer sponsor the Grand Prix and Steelback Centre has since been renamed. Well, that tends to be what ha...

D'oh, that sucks.

Hopefully Harold & co wind up on their feet and find a new location.

Rob, does this mean that there will be no more Executioner? or will GRBC work on a deal with Harold to brew it for sale while his restaurant is closed?

Mmmm, the Ashtray Bear.

Had two bottles a couple of years ago. One was wonderfully cinnamonny and spicy, the other tasted like i imagine drinking an ashtray would taste like (ie most unpleasant).

Its a shame, because if they all tasted like the good one, this would be an enjoyable beer.

My local is one of those shitty wall-of-label stores. I've played the "do you have this" game too many times. Now I just take the money and run. It's sad that our society has to impose a deposit in order to have it recycled. It was so much easier just putting them out with the recycling (...

Re: Koningshoeven Full House at Volo

Wandered by Volo's website and noticed this snippet of news: Saint Arnold's Birthday! Thursday Oct 30th Celebrate Saint Arnold's birthday, the patron saint of brewing. We will have on tap Koningshoeven Duble,Tripel and Quadrupel Considering how rarely some of these beers are on tap it sounds like a...
