Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Nice! I went with the far less interesting St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout and Muskoka Cream Ale. Both in fine form tonight.

I'm from the UK and I rarely associate with people born in Canada. On gold medal day my basement was filled with Brits, Irish, and Italians cheering for the US. Some of them claimed they were sick of "Canadian nationalism" on TV. It is not that I have a problem with native-born Canadians ...

How good were you expecting it to be? I was expecting it to be TERRIBLE. No, I thought it would be good, but after two bottle samples I now believe it's one of the best tasting and most original beers I've ever had. It's like a perfect, authentic German weisse with bucket loads of hops in the...

Honestly, it's way better than I expected. The dry hopping is no joke, and is very evident throughout. Amazing spiciness, flavourful and balanced, yet hoppy as shit. If it wasn't 8.2%, I could probably drink it all day.

What gets me as even stranger is this whole flag thing....... Proud to be Portuguese? Fair enough.......fly the flag all year then, not every 4 years when it is convenient because "your country" made the world cup...... By the way, most of these people are CANADIAN citizens now, but don't...

Not me. I can't handle hops or complexity.

That's pretty obvious given your preference for Fruli and Stonewall Light, Mike.
Don't forget PC Honey Red. :P

Re: Mill Street Roggenbier

Ultra dry, almost sour finish. I expected it to be like that (much like a hefeweizen). Though when I tried it on-tap, just before christmas, it wasn't like that at all? That might have been the first batch though... Yeah. I was referring mostly to the bottled version, since I've tried that more rec...

If you want a hop forward, dry, complex pale ale, then it may be more to your liking. Not me. I can't handle hops or complexity. I thought the Smash Bomb was good, drinkable, on target for the style, and certainly something I would buy if it was available, but it wasn't the nuanced hop bomb ...

A couple comments on this comparison: 1) Was the Alpha King as fresh as possible? If not that's a clear disadvantage. 2) Alpha King is a pale ale, and while I know 3 Floyds beers don't really stay within category guidelines, wouldn't a better comparison have been between smashbomb and say Green Fla...
