Re: Belgium

I was just in Belgium in February. We went to Brussels, Ghent, Binche (for the carnival...look it up it's crazy) and Orval. Overall a great time, we had a car and although navigation was tough (especially Ghent) we wouldn't have been able to go to Orval. Cantillion had a great selection to purchase ...

Re: Toronto Beer Tours

I've done the "Beer makes History Better" tour. Fun, but you only stay for a pint in three places. The Steamwhistle tour is fun also.
I know Amsterdam does tours and tastings on weekends and I think you can book tastings at Great Lakes as well.

But presumably there are two versions now, in the sense that the Canadian bottled version is being brewed under licence and (according to some posts above) is not very good, correct? That seems to be the case, and I'm still not sure where the kegged version is being brewed, as the pint I quaffed at...

Is this a re-branding of their "robson street" hefe? And why does it seem that every hefeweizen is in a yellow can these days? :D

On Sunday I had the Goose IPA from the "pour your own" taps at Betty's. I was nervous/curious after reading this thread but was pleasantly surprised. There is definitely american hop character. I wonder if the draught version is imported and the bottled version brewed here.

Recently went with my girlfriend. Food was fantastic, beer was great but everything seemed under-carbonated that day (both the habits saison and the amsterdam howl)
The taps and bottle list are well curated.

Will definately go back.

I don't know anything about what is and is not allowed. I can see how a few smaller operations might have snuck under the radar (if that is the case) like House Ales, Habits, Get Well. I don't know how a place like 3 brewers could set up shop so easily though (and 5+ years ago at that). It makes me ...
