Re: Matron

(Merged with small older thread about Matron)

Saw some social posts about this yesterday. Nice folks behind it and I enjoyed the beers I've had of theirs. Hoping they pull through.

Curious if all the breweries and others talking about it are just trying to will it into popularity, or if folks are actually drinking it.

Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer

Which begs the question, why are NA beers stocked at the LCBO? They don't stock soft drinks or water. Seems like wasted shelf space. That's a really interesting question. And on the flipside, why isn't NA beers sold at variety stores, fast food restaurants and other quick serve places? Feels like i...

I guess they had been saving them and wanted to free themselves of the tasty bottles!

Re: Recruiting back to the Bar Towel

FWIW, I migrated the forum to a new server in the last couple of days so hopefully it's faster for everyone.

Google's PageSpeed insights gave the site a 99/100 on desktop performance! (I should have checked before, but let's just say it was lower! :P )

Re: Chicago

Chicago came up on the beer social media radar recently with the opening of an Other Half location there, where 16oz glasses were $16! The funny thing as someone pointed out on Twitter was that the 16oz prices were more than a 4oz and a 12oz glass combined. Not sure if they just royally f'd up or si...

Re: Alcohol regulation changes

I just saw a fairly brief article on CBC about upcoming changes to various rules and regulations. It included this paragraph about alcohol sales. Ontario is also extending rules governing the purchase of alcohol across provincial borders. Consumers will be allowed to buy alcohol directly from busin...

Re: London, Ontario and Area

Happy new year folks! Posted up part one of my A Quick Beer in London. This will be a big one, as I did interviews with Milos (this episode) plus Anderson, Forked, Beerlab & Storm Stayed. This one will be of particular interest to those who remember the old days of Ontario beer as Milos talks ab...

Red Tape Brewery

Couldn't find many mentions so I thought I'd start a thread after visiting a couple of times this year. Red Tape is cozy little brewery located at the corner of Main St. and Gerrard in TO. Their "thing" is to brew custom beers for special events (weddings, showers, etc.) which is a unique ...

Re: London, Ontario and Area

I'm finally getting the Quick Beer video of London off the line, and it's going to be multi-parter as I spoke with so many folks there. Here's a quick teaser with a fun story from Milos Kral of Pub Milos about his first experience with beer after arriving in Canada. Hopefully the first full episode ...

Two-Tap Jockey Box - Free to anyone who wants it

I have a 2-tap jockey box with gas tank that I believe is perfectly functional (it could use a cleaning). Used at festivals in days gone by and don't need it anymore.

Anyone want it? Free.

How to dispose of a keg?

Here's something that maybe some of the industry folks or homebrewer types may be able to shed some light on. I have an old 20L keg that I got from a US brewery long ago (and isn't going back to them). Curbside garbage won't take it, and I tried taking it to the dump and they wouldn't take it either...
