Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Nickel Brook's Wet Hop just hit the shelves at Dundas-Dovercourt. Not showing stock yet. $7.95 for 750 ml I love this beer. :o I really enjoyed last years release. Thought it was fantastic. Just opened a bottle... not at all to my liking (and, I quite liked last years). It almost has a sweet artifi...

Re: The Bellwoods Brewery Release Thread
yeah, having the new v5 right now. I'd have to say that v4 is my pick as the best of the bunch as well... but, since this seems to be a beer that they'll consistently produce I think they'd have trouble sourcing the Nelson hops of the v4 year round. Anyhow, this v5 is very good and definitely my fav...

Re: New non-LCBO/TBS beer releases
yeah, I fully support Rainhard and will try anything they put out... but, the only thing by them that I've found impressive is their Imperial Stout (coffee if I remember?). It was quite tasty and hid the alcohol well. I'm looking forward to this Kapow! and them tweaking and learning more to get ever...

Re: New non-LCBO/TBS beer releases
Mildly upset that I didn't get a chance to try the Jutsu V5.
Bellwoods has really stepped up their IPA game with these releases. V4 being the tastiest (Nelson Sauvin is definitely their friend) followed by V2, V3 (tasty, but overly dry perhaps?) and V1 in my opinion.

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Yesterday at beerbistro and at home: Collective Arts Ransack the Universe IPA (draft) Rodenbach Grand Cru (draft) Stone Cali-Belgique IPA (bottle) Yup. It recently appeared on TBS website in keg only format. Yes. And to my surprise, the Octopus was infinitely better. Our local crafters have come a ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
$9 for an underwhelming IPA... no, thanks. Has there been any news/rumours of Elysian getting here anytime in the future? I would think that with their buyout by a major player that the door might have creaked open a little bit. They've impressed me (space dust, dayglow) far more than anything that ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
just had a block 3 saison from the LCBO... fine/average/not bad (which is, unfortunately, an accomplishment considering the LCBO choices), but I wouldn't buy it again. where's the saison du tracteur this year?! Also, having a headstock (which I'll disclose as my, hands down, favourite IPA). There's ...

Re: New non-LCBO/TBS beer releases
Monogamy - Nelson Sauvin, in the bottle shop now. And it's amazing. Even better than I remember last time. I had one the other day and was blown away by how good and complex it was for a single hop experiment. Having another right now to double check... and, yup, without a doubt in my mind, this is...

Re: Random Reviews
yeah, I remember it being a lot brighter and more refreshing.
when GLB is on top of it they've made some of the best beers I've ever had... but, consistency seems to be a problem for them.

Re: Random Reviews
Just had a roughly 1+ year old bottle of Bellwoods Monogamy Series, Sorachi Ace. I bought two bottles a while back and had one fresh. The fresh one was utterly undrinkable, all the worst flavours that sorachi hops can make were present…ended up being a drain pour. I just happened to discover the ot...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
yeah, I wasn't very impressed with the smuttynose imperial stout - very hot on the alcohol.
I was really looking forward to it after having their robust porter this winter... that is a fantastic cold weather beer that I hope comes back.
