Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Beer article

Open up the July issue and go to page 15. Its a good sample of Canadian beers that we in Toronto will not likely ever see.

Pubs with table top shuffleboard game

Our curling team is having an off-season get together...anyone know a good or just passable pub in the downtown area that has a table top shuffleboard game? Kind of an odd request but I didn't know who else to ask.

I left at around 7:30-8:00 and it wasn't there then. But winning a t-shirt and reduced prices was definitely good!

The sage-spruce wit was particularly good.

I used to brew beer at Select Brewing at Mowat and Dufferin ages ago (mostly from syrups, but I did one all-grain) and it was always good. Some of the recipes were theirs, and some were my own. The owners were very knowledgable and they carried good ingredients.

It's long gone though....

How about a ginger porter? I made one at a brew-your-own place a long time ago, using ale & dark ale extract, light & blackstrap mollasses, ginger and lots of honey! Very nice :D

Mill Street Brewpub

Anyone know what the ETA is on this? I looked at it a couple of days ago and they don't look that close to being done. Anyone in the know as to what they have planned for this brewpub?

Garrison Brewing from Halifax is pretty good. Their coffee porter is the best I've ever tasted and the nut brown is very good as well. But stay away from the Jalapeno Ale!
