Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

I found a few Fullers London Pride at the Weston Rd. / 401 location today (I grabbed the last of them on the shelf) - any other spring releases starting to trickle in elsewhere? Lots of Wild Irish Rogue there as well. Perhaps my High Park LCBO's are just not treating me well.

I’d really recommend this to anyone who has ever thought about homebrewing. I made a new year’s resolution this year to get in to it, and I have enjoyed every minute of it (well, maybe not so much the bottle washing!). You would be surprised at the quality beer you can produce with a little bit of e...

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have revisited a couple Bloor West pubs and thought I would throw in my two cents. First, the good – A Dark Horse did indeed have Fullers ESB and Mill St., and I quite liked the pub – much better than what I remembered. A bit of an older crowd, but for some re...

Well, The Beer Bistro has a Fullers Tap, originally with London Porter and now with ESB (as of last time I was there, about 10 days ago). And while not on tap, the LCBO locations I have visted lately all have a healthy stock of the London Porter, at $0.20 off a bottle.

I have not been to the Dark Horse in about a year, but it is good to know that there are a couple of decent taps in there. I too found it smoky in the very open environment, but it did have some character. The last time I was in the Griffin, the tap list was standard British selection, but again, th...

As a resident of the high park area, this is very sad news. Good beer is tough to come by down here. Thanks to RCH for the fine pints these past few years and good luck in the future.

I know someone who manages one of the other businesses in the Whitby complex where the other GB is and he said they are still doing pretty well out there (that was just past christmas). So one survives for now.

I was just using the terminology from the lcbo website under store description - I see now they actually have two stores listed for the same address there - store 1 and 741 I think. It was my first trip there and while I didn't notice any price differences in the products I purchased, it certainly h...

I finally tried the O'hara's on the weekend (I found 20 (!) at the LCBO clearance centre at 401 and weston rd. - lots of Young's too, although I only picked up a few of each) and really enjoyed it, so if that is the case (I missed the Wild Irish the last time it was though) I look forward to it. And...

In reference to Stephen's Guinness comments, I agree, it isn't what it used to be and that is too bad. Despite what some may think on this forum, having a good pint of Guinness in a quality atmosphere is one of the true drinking pleasures in life (in my opinion of course). I can't help but think the...

Thanks Jon - I had wondered where the Man U club went and now I know - I will check it out. Yeah, I remember when they did the filming at McVeigh's a few years ago - being a member of the Celtic supporters club, I am in there quite often - that's what I love about downtown right now - if I want a gu...

Good luck on the possible move Publican - the upstairs of the bow would be a great place to host the reds. Yeah, Scallywags is the other great english footie bar in the city - I watched some world cup matches there a couple of years ago and it was a great atmosphere. If you're footie tastes run a li...
