Re: Rouge River
Anyone know what’s going on at Rouge River? They posted a story on Instagram saying they’re “closed for renovations”? I had an order canceled just before it was to ship, and got a reply about “restructuring”. All their social media platforms have gone quiet. Very cryptic. I hope all is well with th...

Re: Badlands Brewing Caledon
Reading back through the thread now, it's crazy to me that these guys were ever in TBS. Badlands is insane To start on a 1BBL system, brew 3-5 times a week, package 700 - 1000 on a self built bottler and then self distribute to TBS while working other full time jobs is insanity Then, to grow that t...

Re: Ontario Brewing Awards 2021
I tend to wonder how relevant these sorts of competitions are these days, especially with many breweries not entering and the sheer volume of beer that is released. With the democratization of information and opinions it seems that the formal critical role is increasingly replaced with community so...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I have seen some of the chatter about Timothy Taylor and I have to admit I didn't realize it had such a reputation. Very much looking forward to that Jubelale! probably a combination of the beers reputation and the complete lack of proper English beer at both the lcbo and in Ontario in general anyb...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I heard on Jordan and Robin's podcast that Timothy Taylor Landlord is coming to the LCBO for the fall release. Anyone have a sense of timing? I think he said $3.95 and I'm going to assume this is for the 500 ml bottle (I don't think it is canned in the UK). For those that haven't tried it, "Th...

Re: Willibald
Nice touch to have guest beers! Many Ontario breweries now have "guest" beers in their tap rooms that they sell to walk in (or curbside pick-up) sales but none that I know of are shipping. Could be because they don't have the bag of chips to include as the "food" to comply with ...

Re: Coronavirus
And the number of new beers being announced, whether one-offs, return of seasonals, or new 'permanent' offerings doesn't seem to have slowed down either. I suspect the new releases are partly a way to drive repeat sales. A new beer every few weeks means I'll probably order some of my old favorites ...

Re: Cryo Hops for Dry Hopping
Anyone have experience with this? I’ve avoided dry hopping in the past due to too many batches with an overly vegetal flavour. Seems these will reduce that risk. you can def dry hop with cryo how long are you leaving your beer on the hops when dry hopping? Thanks Matt, I’ll give them a try. Would 1...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I happened upon St-Feuillien Saison the other day. It doesn't seem to be listed online yet but it's fresh and drinking mighty fine. I think this is my favourite saison. In our opinion? Fantome Saison's one of the best, but it's far from classic. It's weird and wonderful. Dupont is still the best ba...
