I've never tried the Cuvee so I'll probably get a fresh bottle if I happen to see it. I didn't mind Kentucky Bastard last year but there is no way I'd pay that much for it again. Yes I understand that barrels are expensive to acquire and there is lots of time and effort involved in the process. I st...

^Too sweet for me too, which is why I'm really hoping the Black Oak Okt will be returning.....? The Barn Door is REALLY nice. Agreed; a very tasty little marzen, and much more balanced than Sam Adams', which I also find to be a bit too much on the sweet side. Though if the six packs are seriously 1...

The cans state that a brewery in Kitchener makes it, not sure who that would be unless they meant the Brick brewery in Waterloo (if it is still called that). Brick definitely contract brews the PC beers in this province, though they use the alias White Water Brewing on the label (or something close...

Being a city-odic beer geek, I couldn't help but review Highlander's RB ratings just now---as I suspected due to the total lack of buzz about them on this forum, they suck! http://www.ratebeer.com/brewer/10734/sort/2/ That's a little harsh. The Twisted Spruce isn't very good, but the other beers I'...

I used to love Trad and Grasshopper back in the day when I was living in AB. They were probably the first craft(ish) beers I drank regularly. That being said, I'd still put Big Rock on about the same tier as Brick... sorta-passable beer at best, with plenty of mediocre stuff padding their portfolio....

I am impressed at how much worse they have managed to make the site, considering it was already mediocre and a pain in the ass to use to begin with. Oh, and also how they've managed to maintain the new site's lack of functionality for basically a month now. That's impressive, too, and must take a re...

Snarky comments aside, I don't see any strong indication that many other people care about this, either. It's a beer label, not a part of our heritage.Ale's What Cures Ya wrote:I'm so happy for you.darmokandjalad wrote:

Great idea. Why celebrate some famous and unique Canadians when you can celebrate some made up bullshit? Why does a beer need to celebrate anyone or anything? Especially a regular, brewed-all-year flagship offering. I've been drinking this stuff for a while now and until I read the attached article...

King Pils is my favourite Czech-style pils, but it's only sporadically available here, so I usually just go with the imports when I'm in the mood for that sort of beer. PU is great and Czechvar is a nice substitute for when I can't find any fresh cans of the former. Golden Pheasant is also a nice on...

I am living in Sarnia at the moment and was there on opening day; it's pretty rare to see that many people packed into such a small space in this town. I've been back to the brewery a few times, and their main problem right now seems to be keeping up with demand. It's great to see them succeeding, a...

I feel like if you have a canning line, you should be using it to your greatest abilities. There is literally nothing negative you can say about canned beer (or so I believe). I agree completely; any brewery that has a canning line should employ it at every opportunity. The only thing bottles reall...
