It's really interesting how palates differ. I found the hops in Heelch to be pretty muted (stale) in both aroma and flavour with a very broad, malty backbone taking center stage. Happy it's in the LCBO, though.

Yikes. Had I not been working today I would be there as well. Judging by their Instagram photo, this stuff's gonna be gone soon. Got there at 11:00. Got bottles at 12:30. Only saw 1 or 2 people grab less than their 8 allotment. Line was almost as big when we finally left Ossington area at 1:00. I w...

Trillium Fort Point IPA Trillium A Street IPA Trillium Congress Street IPA ...at a hotel room in Boston. All fucking delish. Spent last week drinking a bunch of Trillium in a hotel room in Boston myself. Brought a ton of it back to Ontario too. Really great stuff. Did you manage to score any Upper ...

Agree with all, the Moralite is very good right now. Almost passed on picking it up due to the Jan 28th bottling date. There is a little hop fade, but there's no way I would have guessed it would be drinking this well 8 wks post bottling. A winner, despite The LCBO's snail pace.

Bold statement, but as long as there are no issues with scaling up, this will potentially be the best brewery in Ontario. At least until you doomed them to failure with that statement! I believe in them, The Nightman Cometh was scaled up just fine. That's still my measuring stick for Black I...

Heading down for a conference in about a week. Staying near the convention center/Fenway. Anything else new or recent worth recommending? For people who went to Trillium, was it worth it? From my reading they have a limited liquor licence and can only do samples at the brewery. Are there things in t...

What percentage any of the previous beers from past breweries had on RB/BA/Untappd may have little relevance with regard to what his new beers will be like, unless of course there were obvious brewing flaws. The beers he brewed at Beau's and Barley Days probably weren't his own design and he was lik...

Craft lagers are extremely underrepresented, even more so when broken down by sub-style, like this apparent kellerbier. If it's a quality keller that opens peoples eye to what a lager can taste like, the he'll make a killing. Having said that, I haven't had Beau's or Barley Days in a long time, so I...

Yeah, there are a ton of biological and chemical factors that determine what anyone can and cannot taste and at what intensity. Taste, like most things, has a huge genetic component both in terms of single genes and complex genetic combinations. There's also taste bud density, salivary composition a...

I never questioned your taste, or your dislike for the style, and didn't try to tell you anything. How dare you tell me what you didn't tell me!!! Whippersnapper!!!!!! I'm just taking the piss. To be completely transparent, I haven't tried Cruiser yet, but I'm sure it will be the worst beer in the ...

It's pretty much the only style I wish would just die. Not liking a style is fine, but I don't see any rationale for wishing a style to die? :-? Don't tell me what I can irrationally hate, God damn whippersnapper! Session IPA's would be fine by me if the vast majority of them were any good, which I...

Regardless of the phrasing these All Day IPA/Pale Ale's just aren't doing it for me anymore. At first I thought it was cool but now they all just seem like juice with very little body. What can I say, I just like beer to have some body/substance to it. "But this 2.3% beer actually has flavour!...
