Re: Speaking of QUADS at LCBO

Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad was a bit of a let down for me. It was nice, but not enough bourbon notes. However, my palate may have been compromised that evening.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Is their manager slacking or is there a lot more to be distributed? Anyone have any idea? Good luck trying to make sense of the disto patterns at the LCBO. I'm still waiting to grab a Prearis Quadrocino from the fall release. You can always call your local manager and have some ordered in for you.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Can anyone explain the hype to me about three philosophers? I mean, it's good, sure. It's not better than St Bernardus (which we have year round) or Rochefort 8 or 10. Just wondering. I opened a bottle the other day and thought it was fantastic. Lots of cherry notes from the Kriek. The only other t...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

'12 Unibroue 17 - This seems to have developed a lot of bitterness over time. A woody-herbal-spicy astringency mixed with the sweet fruity notes one would expect. It was interesting and enjoyable, but I think this was past its prime.

Hafis

Popped by the Hafis Rd location yesterday and was impressed. Very spacious, self serve to-go fridges and you can order/drink beers on site. You can see the whole brewing setup from the retail/seating area. My wallet is in for some trauma with this beer being much more accessible to me.

Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

The Mikkeller was there last night at around 10pm when I was there. It doesn't seem to be moving at the $14.10 price point, although that is a fair price IMO without having tasted it yet. If you're facing the entrance of the store there are about 6-7 bottles on the shelves on your right side, toward...

Hmm. Well the Achel, Timmermans and Kriek de Ranke were all recently listed as online exclusives. And as of right now the Timmermans and Kriek de Ranke are no longer listed. No idea about the Alvinne, Mikkeller, etc. Odd, but I can't complain!

Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

I don't know what's going on but this clearance section has been on fire lately. Seen tonight: Mikkeller It's Alive - Lychee and wine barrel version. 375 ml $14.10. 8 bottles left Alvinne Sigma and Phi. 330 ml $2.90. BB Jan 2019. 10 cases of each. Achel 8 330 ml $3.25. Two different bottlings both B...

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

I noticed when I updated the LCBO app last week it said inventory would reflect "live" stock levels updated every 15 mins or so. It seems to be working. The Ten Fidy I picked up this afternoon is reflected online at the Bayview Village LCBO. Nice!

Oh, how I've missed you Karmeliet. Citrusinesis and Tulsa Twister look interesting.

Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

I just happened upon a case of 2013-2014 Boon Oude Geuze. 375 ml bottles @ $4.25 each.

Seven bottles left on the shelf for anyone quick enough.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

2015 Toronto Beer Week Six Boroughs Bourbon Barrel-Aged Rye Porter — This is drinking very nicely and I enjoyed it more than when it was fresh IIRC. Chocolatey roasted malt and bourbon barrel flavours well balanced and smooth. Warning: this one was a mild gusher.

I haven't had any luck buying a single of the Lagunitas Sucks. Anyone know a code?
