Re: LCBO Summer 2018 Craft Beer Release
This may not mean anything, but they just added Saison Dupont back to the database: here's a link. In my experience, that usually means it's about to roll out to stores sooner rather than later. Amusingly, they didn't bother deleting (or re-using) last year's database entry, so there's two Saison Du...

Re: LCBO Autumn 2018 Release
Weird. I made a post in this thread this afternoon but apparently it fell into the fifth dimension? It seems to exist within the forum's data (i.e. it shows up in my list of posts when I check my profile), but not in the thread itself. Whatever - here it is again. Is the Van de Keizer Imperial Blond...

Re: LCBO Autumn 2018 Release
I was also wondering this, so I looked into it a bit and the answer seems to be 'yes'. Both of the vdK brews have had a name change.Provost Drunk wrote:
Is the Van de Keizer Imperial Blond the same as the Rood?
It looks like the vdK Blauw is now called "vdK Imperial Dark".

Re: LCBO Autumn 2018 Release
I saw the Eisbock at the top of that list, and that was enough for me. I've been waiting for them to bring that nectar of the gods back for like 4 (?) years now. Other than that, I'm not seeing anything too exciting here. Dragon's Milk / Fuller's Imperial Stout are always nice to have. Ditto to the ...

Re: Grand River Brewing
Ah, interestingly I only saw the 3 beers listed on their website. Perhaps they're selling themselves short? It does say new website coming soon though, to be fair. . Those True North labels have been at TBS for years now. In cases only, which is the main reason I've never bothered trying them (othe...

Re: Doug Ford
... denying buck-a-beer to someone else. Has anyone actually suggested that? Expressing justifiable doubt that many producers will be interested in making buck a beer is not the same as saying "we shouldn't have buck a beer". BTers are just being realistic. The financial incentives for bu...

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing
Given the historic (and current) imbalances of power that often exist, on a societal level, between men and women, there's a difference and while it's easy to make the comparison as has been done, it's not particularly accurate nor equal. I don't mean to be rude but you're basically attempting to j...

Re: Doug Ford
We pay far too much for shit beer. I want my shit Busch for cheepy cheep k pls and tks. Why would AB-InBev want to voluntarily reduce their profit margins? Busch is already one of the top ten selling beers in the province. They're not going to turn a successful brand into a loss leader just because...

Re: Doug Ford
They can simply add some more water and call it a Ford EdSelssion lager. Barley Days will be the most successful newcomer Ontario brewery since Trafalgar.

Re: Doug Ford
Maybe I'm illiterate but I don't think that article said anything about Barley Days planning to produce and sell buck a beer. It just says that Ford is going to use their spot for some good old fashioned attention whoring.

Re: Sexism in beer labels in Ontario
Unfortunately NB generally seems to be struggling a bit these days. Perhaps all those who wanted the scantily clad women removed from the labels will support them now, and that will lead to a large upswing in sales. I mean, there was a guy on a beer board wondering if the beer being worse but the l...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
The Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA is still okay, but IMO is beyond best before. Hardly "fresh squeezed" and a bit more malt forward. It's also a fair bit darker than I expected . Those same thoughts passed through my mind when I tried my first bottle. I don't want to discourage American br...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Picked up a sixer of Deschutes Fresh Squeezed today. BB August 15, so better come get it before it's officially stale.
In all fairness, it still tastes ok. But not nearly as good as the can of Life in the Clouds I had afterwards... or the can of Nickel Brook Wicked Awesome I had last night.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I've had like 12 cans of Moxee over the last month and they all tasted fine. Not GLB's best T10 IPA by any means, but still better than a lot of the stuff on the shelves.
