Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

...Domaine du Minot (which I bought today). Thanks for this info. I must pick up a bottle when I get back to town. Do let us know what you think of it, particularly about its location on the sweet-dry axis. The ratebeerians are united (united!) in describing it as both sweet and dry, so I suspect i...

Granite is supposed to be hot poop now.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
For the sake of this thread, where are they for getting this BW?
The Granite Brewery is on Mount Pleasant at Eglington. I'm assuming the Barley Wine is available there.

Let me know if it works. I'll be about 800km east of you for the next week.

The 29th? Of October? 2005? You mean a Toronto beer event might actually take place on a day when I'll be able to go?

Cremola Foam

When I was a child, you could buy this powdered stuff called Cremola Foam. I loved it. It came in a small tin. You mixed a few teaspoons into a glass of water and it produced a delicious creamy, foamy drink. There were various flavours. They don't make it any more, although there is the inevitable i...

Speaking of lists of ingredients, I notice that the DFH Chicory Stout contains St John's Wort, which some claim to be a natural antidepressant. I certainly feel more cheerful after a bottle or two...

Well, the Summerhill location has some RCS left, so panic, fear and rage are probably unnecessary for a couple of days at least. Was the Chocolate Stout ever listed on the LCBO's website, I wonder? It seems that being listed has a fairly high positive predictive value, but a negative predictive valu...

I might be if I knew anything about it. BB's website says nothing about it (or Oktoberfest for that matter) and AFAIK it hasn't been mentioned it here before.

Do you have any information Harry?

Chocolate Stout now just a sweet memory?

The shelfful of RCS I noticed at my local LCBO on Friday had been completely cleared by Saturday, and not by me. The not-always-reliable LCBO website no longer lists the product. Did we pass through Peak Chocolate Stout without knowing it, or are there still untapped reserves in the hinterlands?

I'm pretty sure that I saw a quote from her a year or two back where she mentioned the Landlord as being her favourite. Then if we met there'd at least be something to talk about. I was dreading having to find something nice to say about Kabbalah or Guy Ritchie's movies. One less thing to worry abo...

I'm a fool to mention this, I know, but the Manulife LCBO seems to have lots of the Saison Dupont left at $1.95 a bottle. How can anyone complain about that? I don't think anyone in the store has a clue about this beer. They also have the delicious Rogue Chocolate Stout (and the so-so Hefe-Weizen, b...
