Drinking LaGranja now. It's ok. Glad I just bought one bottle. Stouts are a fairly common style around here anyhow, and you can easily get local stouts for far less money that are just as good, if not better.

I was at Biertempel in Brugge, and had a Westy 12 in my hand, but didn't realize it until later. I was just thought it odd that there was a row of bottles with no label. I so regret not buying one.

Lucky for me, it is my day off. The wintery weather inspired me to dig into the cellar and do a Quad day, to keep me warm between bouts of shoveling snow. Luckily, I have a fairly good stock in the cellar. I had.... St Bernardus Abt 12 Rochefort 10 Dieu de Ciel Rigor Mortis Abt Koningshoeven Quadrup...

I don't think there is anything in this release that I haven't had previously, but I am very glad to see the Skjalfti and Hopsinjoor back. I know they are repeats, but excellent beers that we just can't get otherwise.

I can say I've never had that happen. If it's the end of the evening and I still feel like a night cap, I'll forgo a beer and go for a sip of brandy or short glass of Oporto.

I was at the Norrebro brewpub in Copenhagen this past September. It was a very long (and very expensive) evening during which I tried 12 of their beers (they had 15 different ones there, so the three I couldn't manage to get to, I bought a bottle of each and drank the next day). The nice thing was t...

I like the idea, but I'm not sure of the logistics of it. Even just the few of us who take turns buying and splitting cases on private order here in KW have a hard time getting the beer actually distrubited. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks to get to everyone. However, I'd be interested in seein...

I just had my last TBY which I bought a few months ago. It is still drinking very well. It kept it's bitterness better than the first batch did at this age. I would have drank it more often, but I can only get it by making the 90km drive to Ebtoicoke, so hence I try to make it last.

I don't keep this in the fridge anymore. I find it much better right from my celler, which is usually around 12°C. I do that with all my stouts and porters now, as well as quads and tripels. I find the beers have much more flavour at the warmer temperature.
