Some interesting recs, but I'm surprised that no one has mentioned one of my favourite readily-available lagers - Sam Adams. I think this is a brilliantly made beer, and one of the most drinkable brews I've come across. Good call on the Sam Adams! I forgot about it, but have enjoyed in the past on ...

Staropramen is a nice treat once in a while, but like many, drink more ales, wheats and other styles before lagers....

Bought a six over the weekend. Fantastic stuff. I'd put it on par with Mill St. Wit.

I"ve had poor luck with Heritage beer. Even their regular offerings have what I call a "funk" factor and not funk in a good way...maybe next time.

Sounds like Upper Canada has a winner. I'll check it out next time, but I'm guessing it's not on the low end of the price scale....Thanks for the suggestions/comments.

0.5% Beer

I'm guessing most people on this board avoid the stuff, but I've been trying out some brands and was curious if anyone has had any good experiences. I've only had the Becks, Molson Excel and the PC Red and PC Lager. I have to say the Becks is good but expensive (relatively speaking), the Molson was ...

Nice review Dutchcanuck. Niagara's Best seems to be heading in a great direction. I've only had their Blonde and was not overly impressed, but look forward to all the other offerings.

I thought it tasted a lot like a hopped up version of Tankhouse when I had a pint at beerbistro.

Still - it reads like a brainless PR generalization, the kind of factoid nonsense people are apt to repeat, which is really too bad. An average consumer reading this may already know Duvel is strong and Hockley Dark is not, and they may unfortunately think this quote is silly. All this aside, I alw...

Pump House Fire Chief Red Ale. long name, interesting flavour, fruity, kind of what I thought a "red" ale might taste like if "red" was a flavour...
