I have to say.. if anything happened to Upper Canada brands after Sleeman took over it was only watering down. I distinctly remember the outstanding taste of Upper Canada Lager and Rebellion Lager 7-8 years ago. The ones you can find in stores right now have nothing in common with the old versions.

Perry,
I can only speak for myself but every year I try to be there on Friday since it's not that crowded, so from my point of view, tapping the Major on Friday sounds just great.

As far as prices go, a bottle of imported specialty beer usually goes for about twice the price in US. And prices in BC/Alberta are about 1.2-1.5 higher than Ontario at the moment.

That would explain why I'm not getting any feedback on my Edition 2004 order. And by the way Perry, where are you with the Sergeant Major bottles. I live too far from Beer bistro to be able to get it regularly.

That's a typo for sure. I've been a single malt fan for quite a while now and I tell you there is no way you can get the 18 at that price anywhere (including Europe - where I buy most of my single malts).

Me and a friend have done a parallel tasting: St. Ambroise vs. Black Oak vs. Mill Street Pale Ale and I hate to admit it but Tankhouse turned out the best of the three. Good job.

Hi Steve, This is really great news. Every time I visit your fine establishment I have to restrict myself to Blonde d'Achouffe and Sergeant Major IPA since all the other taps are either beers I can find in stores or uninteresting to me. Now we have more choices. By the way are you going to be over t...

O'Hara is certainly a high end brew. Dry, medium-full body and a well incorporated hoppiness makes it what a real stout should be. I'm going back to buy some more.

I guess it depends from what point of view you look at things. They might be a little drastic in their quality/health requirements but we on the other hand are on the other side of the river. We don't have many rules in this direction. Not once I opened a north american beer that was bad and there w...

This is a question no one would ask in Europe. I don't know if you noticed but all the belgian and other european beers have an expiry date and for a good reason I assume. I would ask a different question: Is it safe to keep beer past the expiry date for aging or any other purposes?

This is a very decent imperial stout. The 9.1% alcohol content is well integrated and it really goes down smoothly. Roasty/chocolately malt body and great hoppy aftertaste. I personally recommend it to anyone who likes stout. And 2.40/bottle... not bad. I guess this is one instance when you can tell...

I found it to be the same. I don't know if it's normal or not but I don't think the next one will be different.
