Thanks for the heads up. The west side of the city can be hit and miss. I'd love for the Rideau store to move a little closer :)

I tried to follow my own advice this weekend but it went wrong. Was going to a birthday party and decided Dos Equis might be a suitable choice of poison to make me appreciate my beer at home. Well I think I overdid it. There was no beer taste. It was like cardboard flavoured carbonated water. I ment...

Now the trick is to show your Keith's drinking friends the light. Trying my best - I got some of my friends into beer tastings this summer. The first one, held in August, was a big hit. We have another one scheduled for next Saturday. I can't wait. We sample them blind, rate them in a ridiculous Ol...

Here's what you can do. Order whatever swill they have.. if you're really daring, get the worst of it. Why would you do this? To be a masochist? No.. but if you drink good beer all day long, every day, you *will* forget how good it is. Occassionally sucking it up and forcing yourself to remember how...

These two beers have been a real awakening for me in terms of quality drink. I always knew something really good was out there but could never find it. Thank god I stumbled across this place! But back to the beers. They are both delicious..in both initial tastings I had something happen that has nev...

Montreal, Brutopia on Crescent

Likely discussed here before, but I visited them this weekend past. I'm pleased to report that their IPA offering was quite good (and light years better than anything 3 brasseurs up the street was offering). I was looking for something hoppy and it fit the bill.. with a nice fruity balance to boot. ...

Speaking to the beer ordering chap at my LCBO today and got onto the topic of anchor steam (I was looking for 12). He claims that this did so well during its release it is positioned to become a regular offering on the shelves.

Is there any truth to this?

Many thanks to all the passionate people in this thread. Your posts convinced me to do some searching for Dogfish and after some driving I came up with two sixers. It has been a real treat and now I understand what all the fuss was about!

I have had a several of the Harvey's porters now and they've all been consistent. A real treat in my opinion.. lots of rich chocolate and coffee malted goodness. I liked this beer immediately.

Still hoping to get my hands on the SI version given the positive feedback here as well.

I tried the Great Lakes a few weeks ago and I think I would give it the nod over the MacAuslan brew. That said I drank two of Citrouille this weekend and gave the other two to relatives who really enjoyed them. Very glad to see that there are multiple offerings in this style that are available to us.
