As far as a brew kettle, I would look at these from Ontario Beer Kegs: http://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/Nine_Gallon_Two_Weld_Brew_Pot_p/9gallon-2weld.htm If you will ever want to move up to 10gal batches, go for the 15 gal pot. They come with 2 ports already welded in, and for about $15 each you can a...

You can pick up a refractometer fairly cheap on ebay these days. It will take a much smaller sample to get a reading (just needs a few drops). I would have suggested going with one of the magnotta kits. They make a west coast IPA, but it is only available during a few months of the year, so not sure...

Wondering if more of the honey character would come through by brewing a beer and a mead separately, then blending after fermentation. Would also give the option to make the mead and let it mature for a year or so, then blend with a fresher beer.

Might have to do some experiments :)

you guys haven't tried Pannepot. IMO, one of the best strong ales out there. smooth as hell.
Dulle Teve has a very strong pear hit to it. unique and brilliant beer.
Fantome is in a class of its own.
The Pannepot Grand Reserva is still one of my all time favourites. Wish I had bought more.

I am wondering if they did allow sales at corner stores, how they would limit who could sell. What would stop someone from opening a small store to just sell craft beer? would there be some criteria to keep that from happening? And would that allow said store to order products that are not listed by...
