Re: Witchstock 2018
Ultimately this will come down to basic economics; either enough people will find it worth it at the price point to justify the festival or they won't. I'm not getting hugely invested either way. If I though they were misadvertising the festival, I could see people being angry at them, but that jus...

Re: Riverhead Brewing Co. - Kingston
I echo Belgian's comments on Red House. Awesome vibe, okay taplist, plus a cask (Nickelbrook last weekend).
I also echo the previous poster's comments on KBC. The taplist would put in in the top 20 Toronto bars. I mean they had Bellwoods and Godspeed on amongst a host of interesting options.

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Tried Straffe Hendrik (Brugs) Quad the other night and absolutely loved it. It might be an unpopular opinion but I would place it above St Bernardus and Rochefort 10 (some bottles I've found to be better than others). This is outstanding, I'm placing SH Brugs Quad right between Rochefort 10 and Wes...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
I too am drinking a Cascade Apricot Ale. When I bought this beer, I was a little reluctant to part with over $20 for 750ml of beer. Well, let me tell you it was worth it. This beer is right up there with brews from my favourite brewery, Cantillon. The apricot has all the funky complexity of a good ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
At the moment I'm having the Grand Cru Val-Dieu. Moving on to a Straffe Hendrik Quad next. Curious about your thoughts on both of these. I have a Strafe Hedrik cooling its heels for later in the week, and plan on picking up the Val Dieu shortly. I quite enjoyed the Abbaye des Rocs, but felt that it...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Collective Arts IPA No 5, which I didn't realize until I got home is actually a DIPA. Anyway, beautiful, hazy golden yellow, a great looking beer. Wonderful nose and the unmistakable presence of citra, which I believe is my favorite hop. I am really growing to love this brewery. My only complaint, ...

Re: Collective Arts
I've never had them side by side, but I'd be shocked if they were the same beer. STASH didn't impress me all that much, but I find Lunch Money to be a pretty decent sessional quaff.

Re: Wvrst to open on King West in TO
So, it WVRST King Street closing? It seems there was a tweet, since deleted, by WVRST that essentially said this, then some chatter about the King West pilot and business being down....Bar Hop jumped into the conversation. Anyone know what the deal is? I don't stop in that often....I like the place...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Tonight I worked my way through a bunch of beers by Lake Wilcox - my local brewery since I moved north of Toronto. I had high hopes for Lake Wilcox when they opened, but after drinking a dozen or so offerings I was ready to throw in the towel. On a whim I popped by the brewery last week when taking ...
