Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
The way it's set up so far is that grocery stores are just added points of distribution for the LCBO. That may change... but not in the immediate cards.

Re: County Road Beer Co.
Anyone out that way really aught to also check out The County Canteen, on Main Street in Picton. Really good food, best draft selection in a wide radius and the owner makes his own beer in house as well. Sells out fast!

Re: Untappd
I know it costs breweries $800/year to register themselves. I thought that was pretty pricey for a small outlet, especially considering they could sign-in with a personal account and monitor stuff that way. But it sounds like there's some really useful features. I use Untappd all the time and would ...

Re: LCBO Spring Craft Beer Release 2016
Anyone had the Caldera Rauch Ur Bock before? You don't see too many North American craft brewers attempt a rauchbier and those I've tried can't hold a candle to Aecht Schlenkerla. I will probably give this one a shot. I'm of the same mind, but this one's for real. Really, really good rauch in my op...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
Biegaman: any word on if the lcbo will be carrying any other varieties of Stone in the future? Or perhaps making certain Stone beers a regular listing? I wouldn't be optimistic. We likely won't ever see a regular listing from Stone because of how the LCBO orders (big bulk orders, and Stone is stric...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
The bastard box got to my LCBO on December 23rd or 24th with an enjoy my date of Jan 6th. Way to go LCBO. BTW the Depth Charged Double Bastard was amazing. It arrived the first week of October... just saying... Same for the Smoked Porter and Coffee Milk Stout and those haven't even begun to roll ou...

Re: How can craft bars differentiate themselves
Ontario brewers have it much easier. They are free to brew and sell what they like. They are allowed to deliver and sell directly to on-premise accounts (bars) or from their retail shops. Imports are another story. This isn't just American, Belgian, or German brands... out of province (i.e., Quebec,...

But I agree that the Goose folks seemed a little disappointed. I'm sure they were looking for a longer line and immediate sell out. I wouldn't be so sure... I overheard the group of them talking afterwards and they were all pretty pleased with it. One of them even said (and I quote directly) "...

Re: beerbistro
The sad reality in this sheltered market is it's very hard to differentiate yourself with your beer selection. Blame the 'BO. You are absolutely correct (both keg and bottle). And this makes bar owners either not try at all or be forced to settle for whatever they can get (local) regardless of qual...

Re: LCBO Winter craft beer release 2015
Thanks everyone. I might contact Trinity to find out when it'll be available next. Honestly, the best thing you can do is request it. Sometimes it's the only way they'll bring stuff in. I've found especially with Stone (though it's true of Chimay, etc) the challenge is convincing bar owners/store m...

Re: LCBO Winter craft beer release 2015
Hungry Brew Hops in Newmarket has it (along with a ton of other great local/international beers).
Trinity Commons in Kensington Market just ran out but should have it back. There's a few other places in TO but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Re: LCBO Winter craft beer release 2015
Bastard Box will retail at $34.45... not bad, considering two of the beers are 11% and the CND dollar is so crap.spinrsx wrote:Wonder what the Bastard Box will sell for in canada.. a bomber of stone ipa was $9 at the lcbo.. so this 4 pack must be north of $40?
