That Lindeman's price is on par with USA from what I remember, it is only 2.5% ABV Why do we equate the value of a beer to be directly proportional to it's abv? In Ontario this seems to be more prevalent than other places. Maybe it's that we don't get any high quality, low abv beers in the province...

The standard craft beers, like the mad tom's, mill St, spearheads, beaus, etc, are the same price as the big boys, at least within a $1 or two, excluding the major value brands like Pabst or something. Charging even a dollar more per pint, using a 58 L format keg, works out to an extra $100/keg. So ...

The Beau's crew are the nicest people I've met in the beer industry. Not kidding. It's half the reason I still bother with them. They love their brand and product they've put a lot of effort into. So, I'm surprised they'd send anyone a testy email regarding their product, but one person is one pers...

Last time I was talking to Sim, he was looking to focus on pretty much just Ottawa breweries at the Rochester. I get the novelty of that idea, but I think that leaves the line up fairly weak for the most part. A lot of the local guys just aren't there yet. BTP is always reasonably strong, and ABC is...

Being in Ottawa, this feature excites me exactly none. I will likely get to try all of these as they will be on tap around town, but I won't be shelling out any money at the BO for them. I don't have an issue with Beau's, but all of these beers will be easily accessible to me and likely most of Onta...

I really like the Loon. It has character. They may lack the knowledge and finer service of Brothers, but I'm not looking for that there. It's a grungy pub where you can drink some great beers. I don't need my server to know all the hops and malts in the brew, the O.G., or anything else to enjoy my p...

I think as far as the bathrooms go, they are just saying that both sides of the fest will have bathrooms, but obviously only VIPs can use the ones on the VIP side . Also the higher ticket sounds like it includes a catered buffet, not to mention 25 more tasting tokens, which are a buck a piece. It so...

I think it's worth taking into consideration that we are comparing, for the most part, one province against a whole country. If you were to make the best hockey team from NY to play against team Canada, they would lose. Take the best players from across the US and the playing field certainly evens o...

Just got my invoice for two cases for the Ottawa Area. Works out to be about $20 a bottle. I'm going to need help unloading some of these. Ottawa people speak up. I do have the usual suspects on the list. I'll let you know when I get my hands on the cases. Hey fella, If you're still trying to unloa...
