I had a bottle over the holidays and meant to post. I agree that it is much improved. The harshness is greatly mellowed. I enjoyed this bottle much more than when it was first released.

Really great news. I hope that Ruination and Sublimely Self-Righteous are not far behind. If they start squeezing in the RIS and Enjoy By I will be extremely happy, but I'm very happy to settle for this as a start!

I haven't tried this in a couple of years, but if this year is "not up to standard", I shudder to think how it tastes.

Charlevoix's La Vache Folle is an imperial milk stout.
I believe one of the Flying Monkeys chocolate beers was a milk stout as well.

Calling my thinking a "false dichotomy built on a staw-man argument" is incorrect. There is no third or fourth choice here. Either we have a society build on the protection of individual rights or we do not. Your "sliding scale" of the balance between the individual and society ...

Everything you've just mentioned is an erosion of property rights. Just because a law is in place doesn't mean it is just. If turning your house into a convenience store does not violate the rights of others, or if adding 5 stories doesn't violate the rights of others, then there's no reason why th...

Let's look at it another way: Joe Blow, the owner of the bar we've been talking about, hates the new smoking ban. He tells his customers "Go ahead and smoke, it's my property and I say it's ok". His customers go smoke on the patio and Joe Blow gets a fine for allowing it. Are we ok with t...

Drinking one of the new BOYDs now. It has been awhile since I had last years, so take this with a grain of salt, but I would say this batch is better than the original. A very, very nice beer. Pricey but well worth the money.

I do think Bellwoods' hoppy beers vary from batch to batch. I haven't had a really good Witchshark in awhile (adored it in the beginning). Roman Candle goes up and down- sometimes it is outstanding, sometimes just good. Stay Classy is consistent and really enjoyable. Amazing that much flavour is in ...

This is very close to me. I went by tonight to check it out. Tried the Liason and IPA. According to the bartender, the Liason is a saison/lager hybrid (?). Brewed with a lager yeast, tastes to me like it is a significant amount of wheat with some spices added. Surprisingly sweet (problematically so)...

those numbers are pretty unfair. the ticket price is $35, not "$35-45". of that, $15 is recouped in the glass + tokens. the final $20 covers shuttles, beer info booklets, and cost of the venue. sounds pretty damn reasonable to me... if you want to spend an extra $10 on early access, that'...

How "nice" are you talking? Grammercy Tavern is a very good restaurant with a good beer list, but is not cheap. They do have two rooms, and the Tavern is more reasonably priced than the dining room.

I agree with JerCraigs. To me, it is well worth an admission fee for a comfortable environment where you can easily get a seat and beer lineups are short. It was a great lineup of DDC beers. Terrific stuff. Very excitd for Zwanze next month.
