Re: Moonlight Mead may be coming to Ontario

Thanks for the clarification. I'll try and pick Some up if I can. Havnt even bothered with any of the ontario stuff, as I just assume it was going to be rubbish just to clarify: Rosewood's mead is definitely not rubbish. i've had 1 good bottle from them - Royale Honey, which is available at the LCB...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Over last few days Muskoka spring oddity--I'm done with Muskoka beers...this was just not good i haven't bothered to drink this since it's inaugural year. first, a brewery annointing their beer as "legendary"? lame. i thought this was such a gross mess of a beer. i have no idea how anyone...

Re: Moonlight Mead may be coming to Ontario

I've only ever had mead direct from a couple monestsries.....found it far too sweet to drink more than an ounce or two. How would these^^^^meads compare, you think? i've been lucky. think i first had Moonlight's mead in Grand Rapids around 3 years ago. i was there for the American Homebrewers Assoc...

Moonlight Mead may be coming to Ontario

Hearing through the grapevine that Moonlight Mead may be coming to Ontario this summer via LCBO.com sales.

if you haven't had it (or any of the US mead, like Schramms or B Necktar before) you should be really excited by this. it's a giant fruit bomb. amazing apertif.

glad to hear things are moving in the right direction. the styles were boring back in October and the taste was less than average.

Re: Winnipeg?

Good few days in Winnipeg. Hit up a few new spots (to me): PEG Beer: really nice spot, great pizza. Beer was solid. The Common: awesome idea, 20 taps and 20 wine in the Forks, grab a drink and walk around looking at the trinkets. Food from the stalls. Beer offerings were mostly local with some Beau...

Re: Henderson Brewing Co

some reviews are in.
apparently it's not bad.
apparently their Events Organizer shouldn't give a press release/interview.
It does have some orange and some "bitters" in it. apparently.
some rye character, apparently.

Re: LCBO Lucky Finds

A couple weeks back I brought a six pack of Stone Xocoveza Stout up to cash knowing full well they'd scan the case and not the bottle. This is worth a shot with KBS. I certainly don't condone stealing but if one wanted to improve their chances of slipping 5 individual bottles past a cashier for the...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I was going to ask if anyone here had tried CBS, and what they thought about it, as all I've ever heard is people raving over it. they had it on tap at the BLue Monk the year they closed. KBS, CBS and a bunch of other BA beer for their annual BA beer night. none of us loved it. too sweet and very t...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I don't think it's a matter of feeling threatened. I think this has much more to do with the inferiority complex some have toward Ontario/Canadian products. We make some fantastic beers here, but because they're from Ontario and/or are common, we have a tendency to think they're not on par with our...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

To those that think KBS is head and shoulders above everything in Ontario, give your tastebuds a shake. I'm drinking the KBS right now (it is breakfast!) and while it's a lovely beer, I've had many stouts from Ontario that are in the same league as this, and for my tastes, even better. agreed k. go...
