Brick Bambay????

Brick is scheduled to launch a new product in May but 'fruit and vegetable'???

I hope this isn't some deranged malt/fruit combo but what else could it be? A whole new category? Soon to be in the Bambay section of your local liquor store. Yikes!!!

re: MacLeans Pale Ale

As the new (two weeks) sales representative for F&M Brewery out of Guelph, I will jump in here and speak on behalf of Charles MacLean (his computer was pooched and he is struggling now to get back on line). Charles describes his product as a pale ale with the maltiness of a Scottish ale and the ...

The Molson option may make sense

Molson making a play for Unibroue has some merit. Molson has been getting their butt kicked in the high margin premium sector and has zero to compete with the Oland juggernaut except for the lame Rickards line. This could be an attempt to correct that but I'm not holding my breath that they won't sc...

I know that Sleeman staff toured both Uni and Big Rock a few months ago but I don't know who else has. How about the possibilities of corporate and brand name combo's. AB - La Fin du Bud (wishful thinking) Interbrew - Stella et Maud(ite) SABMiller - SAB U2 - and your mother! Coors - Terrible...just ...

Perry, for a guy presently going through the label design process, you seem to display a talent for inspiring shocking imagery. Your labels will undoubtably be collectors items

An infomercial is an infomercial is an infomercial. At least you don't have to stay up to 4am to see it. I grudgingly admit it is yet another brilliant step in a program that Interbrew has taken on their relentless crusade to take over the (beer) world. The number of bar taps that have been bought b...

Their understanding of the concept of 'packaging' is one of their great strengths. I am in love with virtually every effort they have made - even in covering up the lowly industry standard bottle.

My understanding is the start-up group has purchased some of the equipment from the old Celis Brewery which was at 45000 bbl when Miller closed it. This is not equipment that can be run on 20 hl batches so I have high expectations.

On the topic of Quebec micro's (yea I know, complete topic turn), is there a new micro in Quebec called,'Huit' or '8' or 'eight' or something like that? I just heard of a sizeable equipment purchase that would mean a fairly big start-up coming soon. Could be something new and interesting on the hori...

No sooner said than,
"S&N have a history of broken promises and brewery closures including the Matthew Brown Brewery in Blackburn, which S&N once declared to be 'sacrosanct' but went on to close nevertheless."
I hate when that happens.

In this day and age, one generally assumes that any multi-national conglomerate will cock-up any venture into the world of smaller, "quality", niche products. I am taking the glass half full approach by hoping a focused ale brewery can do what a mixed operation cannot. The pressures to cut...

http://www.thepublican.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?id=12453&d=11 By closing its Fountainbridge brewery and moving its ale production to the smaller Caledonian brewery, S&N now has a dedicated ale brewery producing Deuchars IPA, Caledonian, McEwans, Tartan and Youngers brands. That is a place I defi...
