Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). I heard rumor of a bounty available to Labatt reps to replace a Carlsberg tower with one of their new fangled fonts. Of course there was a piss-up afterwards where they gathered and smashed the offending towers. I can't help but think there is some common sense to having all men removed from any pos...

I certainly envy your club session and I find your experience at Goose Island to be a clone of 3 previous visits I have made there. Marginal or bad food, ackward service and no matter where I stood or sat, I was never quite comfortable. The beers were on the whole good with a couple of exceptions ov...

Sorry for the double post. It was the pale, corny, over carbonated, flavourless lager that I was swilling that caused a tremor.

You can't tell me that the North American pale, light, over-carbonated, corny or rice-infested swill we have come to know in one or two syllables as bud, blue, ex, miller, coors or sleeman clear is not a valid style all on its own. Who the hell else is going to claim it as their own. That being said...

Only a Canadian politician could come up with a program like this. Simplicity and common sense once again evade us.

Interesting use of the word 'fair'. A beverage container deposit system is workable and logical but if it was initially imposed upon the backsliding LCBO, it would somehow cause the sky to fall? No, I don't think so. Deposit systems actually create interesting pools of funds based on non-returns. If...

CapFlu - My understanding is that an exceptionally small amount of glass is actually recycled into new glass bottles because of a myriad of contamination concerns. I think 5 to 10% might (from stories I've heard, not actual data) be reblown. A huge amount goes to landfill and that too is the reality...

Gotta back up the cask Pale Ale request. I think that you should do a trial cask and Matt should bring it up to the Fergus area (because he lives up this way) so as not to jade the drinking public in the GTA. Seems like a perfectly logical test program for any new product from Black Oak.

Ken,
Is this created via some magical temperature manipulations in the mash tun or do you use enzymes?:)

Merry Christmas!
