Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

We had a couple of bottles of Samuel Smith IPA last night. Kind of disapointing. No way this is an IPA... even by british standards. If you want get a load of good hops don't even bother with this one, go straight for the Hop Devil.

I can tell you my opinion regarding Tanglefoot. I hate the finish (metallic???). Just turns you off. But that's only an opinion.

From my point of view I'd rather see releases in small batches than none at all. People that enjoy certain beers (which you cannot stockpile because of their short shelf life) certainly have somewhat to suffer from this whole arrangement. Me for one on the other hand, I'm willing to try as many new ...

Very good stuff indeed. Reminds me of some California porters. This should probably be a permanent LCBO release.

I doubt anyone is really going to give you a documented answer for your question. As a related fact, I happen to have relatives in Germany that I could never convince to drink anything but German (Reinheitsgebot) beers. They call the north american beers "chemi" (shortcut for chemicals). I...

I'm visiting some friends in Detroit and I was curious if they have any good beer places. I know about Atwater Brewery but that's about it. I would appreciate some feedback.

If I were you I would order a case of Seigneuriale Reserve anytime. This is a top of the line brew, would stand up to a Chimay Blue anytime.

You might want to start with a german bock (ex: Paulaner Salvator) and with some luck he might slowly develop a taste for darker beers.

It looks like my quest to get a case of Orval will have to end. Three different LCBOs have told me it's impossible to get a case for different reasons (there is stock only in Ottawa, the computer says there is no stock anywhere, the stock is marked as reserved in LCBO database, blah, blah...). The m...

The guys from Richmond Hill were much more helpful. They placed an order right away. It looks like it usually takes up to 10 days to get special orders which is not too bad.

I stopped by Bayview LCBO to get a case of Orval. Guess what... 7 bottles in stock. Come on guys, one of the biggest LCBO stores in Toronto ordered one case of Orval since they probably figured it's not going to be a hot selling item. Who heard of Orval anyway? And by the way, they told me they woul...

I don't know man. The customs are getting worse and worse. Too bad you cannot open a store in Toronto.
