rochefort 10 deleted from the lcbo website.. (even though there is still stock around) Yes no longer searchable - seems blocked - but still at this link I posted. Anyway ^ here's the (maybe) last 5-6 cases in the system. Pre-emptively deleted, maybe it's already gone by the time you get there. Kind...

Pretty much done with this event as well. Mistakes in planning are one thing, but the fact that they said they would make the necessary changes to make the event more enjoyable and then didn't...well...that's it for me... The tiered bathrooms is also pretty laughable since that's been a big problem...

Two steps just means feeding it in two instalments? What does that get you vs just feeding it twice as much to start?

I just find it ridiculous that they are creating two tiers of festival goers. That exists already with the Toronto Beer Festival and even Cask Days to some extent. I don't see a problem with it if people want to pay more to get more. If I feel the $$$ is well spent on the higher priced ticket I'll ...

Y&D square is an interesting venue. Has there ever been a beer event there before?

Any chance at getting some stuff from their big beer series? I'd be interested in a few of them, including the wheat wine which their website says ships next month.

It's still not show stock on the LCBO website, but I decided to pop in to my local (queen and cox well) and check anyway. There were 4 bottles left on the shelves. Emphasis on were.

Smaller crossings are usually better, from my experience. That's not very useful advice if you're trying to cross to Southern Ontario, but there it is.

I once crossed and told the lady how many beers I had. When she asked if they were all regular sized I said no and she asked me how much beer I had. So I told her the total number of ounces. Eventually she just asked me if I had more than a 24 or not and let me through.

Sweet, thanks for posting that. I wish more brewers (or the LCBO themselves) would give the heads up.

I think if you accept the premise that Ontarians are hyper critical of their beer, then you have to be mindful of the affect that has on RB and BA ratings when analysing rankings. IMO a beer like Lake Effect is so enjoyable an IPA I'd have to have a Sculpin or Alesmith side by side with it to say f...

I should probably add that recent years have shown a lot of improvement in the stuff I'm talking about, so we might not be that far off. Amsterdam have started brewing their special stuff more frequently and have two locations you can get it at, Bellwoods is consistently churning out good beers, Bla...

I don't mind people being critical of their beer. That should drive innovation and improvements. I also think that Ontario lags behind a place like Vermont in terms of quality. If we were where Quebec is, maybe more self-promotion would be merited, but for the time being I'd rather brewers focus on ...
