Re: Bellwoods Brewery
As for other distribution, they were aiming to sell kegs to bars outside of the GTA, with most of the local sales directly from their bottleshops/taps (essentially avoiding competing with themselves for sit down customers). This is true, Bellwoods is available almost daily at a bunch of places in K...

I've seen/had this beer on a few occasions now, I think this is the first time I saw Cameron's mentioned. This includes seeing it on tap at Redline.cratez wrote:Cameron's & Redline Going Going Back Back To Cali Cali (draft)

Re: Did Bellwoods go too far with PG
bring on the milkshake IPAs or creamsicle IPAs. you do it right and they're great, and no one else in Ontario (or Canada?) is doing this. Abe Erb did a Pina Colada milkshake IPA but I missed out on bottles, didn't expect them to sell out in a day. I haven't liked a single beer they've made, but I w...

Re: The Ontario Craft Beer Guide 2
I've had one Etienne Brule beer and I regret ordering it, even if it was a 5oz pour. Barncat is definitely up there for me. I've enjoyed almost everything I've had from Stone City Ales. HHOE, I agree with a lot of others, lots of good, but then sometimes there's the occasional off flavours. HHOE is ...

Re: Any Ontario "nitro" stouts or esb's out there?
I don't think you can just hook up any porter or stout to a creamer tap and expect it to pour like St. Ambroise oatmeal stout or mill st cobblestone stout. Like take a keg of Great Lakes harry porter for example! If I'm wrong then my bad. Any brewers care to comment? At a recent Stone City tap take...

I haven't had their beers either, but I would enjoy them. Based on comments you have made, you would not enjoy their "infected" beers.Tapsucker wrote:That aside. I've never had their beer, so I don't know what I'm missing.

Re: Arabella Park Beer Bar - Kitchener
I maybe should have posted this earlier, but it's a weekday and I doubt any non-locals would have made it out. That being said, Bellwoods had their first tap takeover today at Arabella Park. 17 beers on tap, and bottle pours of weft and warp, and grandma's boy. $45 got you, 2 full pours (12 or 16oz ...

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation
Highly peated Scotch in general, and Islay in particular, are near the top in hype/pricing. So, its difficult to find great stuff similar to Ardbeg 10 under 100 bucks in Ontario. Worth looking at: Bowmore 12 ($65) is good but very different than Ardbeg (also weaker at 40% vs 46%) Johnnie Walker Gre...

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation
The currently available (un-peated) winner in QPR is Benromach 10yo: http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/benromach-10-year-old/346627#.WOGu6_krI2w I picked this up, mainly because it was at a price I was OK with paying. I like it quite a bit, I can't say I know a lot about scotch, I either like it or ...

Somehow, the King S and William LCBO in Waterloo got a bunch of Founders All Day in, looks like a couple GTA stores got some too.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Not sure if it's been mentioned or not, but I've just seen Orval on the shelf, along with Tripel Karmeleit. A bit strange, as guelph is usually rather slow at getting the rollout King and William in Waterloo had Orval, said there was 44 when I checked Saturday morning. I grabbed 6, and there were o...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
Had Ghost Orchid on tap today at Arabella, it was good, but honestly, any and all Barncat Pales/IPAs have been better. Come to think of it, Jutsu is the only hoppy Bellwoods beer that comes close to Barncat. Not saying the Bellwoods beers are bad, they're not, they're still very good, I just prefer ...
