Did you find some Behemoth? Saw it at a beer bar this evening in a 22oz bottle, but didn't want to get shit-faced so I passed. Still hoping to find it at West Lake View, the brewpub, or Maria's when we go to the Sox game on Wednesday. Today at Glenn's Diner, Sheffield's, and The Long Room: Three Fl...

I wouldn't mind trying a fresh batch. I have a 2008 bottle that I'm a little scared of.

Pretty good, though the malt profile was surprisingly nutty for a DIPA (and this was a very fresh keg). I preferred the Summer Camp and Avant Garde. :D

Dreadnought IPA from 3foyds. Wow. These mango notes put it over the top. Beautiful.

You definitely should have bought more than one of those. They age very well.

I've also encountered a six-year-old Anchor Foghorn and three-year-old Old Guardian that had hardened white chunks of yeast sediment
weird, you'd think those could age a little longer than three years? Sounds like I should give it a go around 1-2 yrs. I like my hops balanced.

I picked it up at West Lakeview Liquors . I emailed ahead of time to reserve it. I asked for 2, but she only reserved 1. Not sure if that means I took the last one :(. Could always try heading through Munster, IN. The good news is when I was at Binny's Beverage Depot in Lincoln Park just this past S...

What do with one bottle of ageable beer?

Just back from a trip to Chicago, and I picked up a few bombers of barleywines, e.g. Behemoth from 3floyds, Old Ruffian, Old Guardian. I had to limit myself to one of each for different reasons. The question is how long to wait on each one? Ideally I'd have enough to sample the beer as it ages, but ...

Two beers you can get at the LCBO this summer that are great are Denison's Weissbier, and Dominus Vobiscum Blanche from Charlevoix. I prefer the Charlevoix brew, but it's a bit more expensive. Either one is great, though!
