Thanks for the info Bobby. It was a typo. (fat fingers) I just picked up some Forst Sixtus Doppelbock from Bishop's and I agree that it wasn't the greatest. We will be getting most of the beer from Premier and Vin Art (Rogue's/Unibroue/McAuslans/Propeller and some imports). I have a case of Steam Wh...

Hosting Beer Appreciation Night Tips
I am hosting my first beers of the world (craft/imports) night this upcoming weekend and I have roughly 10 people coming over. Most are fans of macro brewed beer so I don’t want to start off with anything that would scare them away right off the bat. I am looking to you guys to provide some tips on ...

Labatt to buy Lakeport Beer
Just read on cbc and The Star websites. Looks as though Labatt has finally realized that people are buying Lakeport for a buck a beer instead of the same thing (Blue) for $10 more.

Ah,,, Keith's is being trashed again on this site. It wasn't long ago that my first postings were criticized because of my enjoyment of Keiths. I think everyone understands that Keith's is not a genuine IPA and we can all agree on that. But as far as macro's go - I would choose Keith's. Personal cho...

GREAT Russian Imperial stout. I bought a couple today at Bishop's and have been very happy with them. I am drinking them at room temp after being in the fridge all morning. Very malty, thick but easy to drink and it doesn't taste like it is 8%. I am very impressed with all of John Allen's creations....

Propeller Brewery - Revolution Imperial Russian Stout
I spoke with Rob Poirer (new marketing and sales director) last week and he mentioned that this will be available either late today or early tomorrow to buy at the brewery and at a select speciality beer shops. I believe he mentioned that they would only have 341ml bottles at this time. **From the w...

I have had the beer school training out here at the Labatt Atlantic Beer Institute. I can almost safely say that this one for $300 would be very similiar as Roger and Bill White created it for Labatt. It is a very interesting course, but if I were to take it again, I would not pay that much money. A...

Most of the free glasses that the NSLC give away are from the big brewers who are looking at increasing sales in an area dominated by Alexander Keith's (Labatt). The microbreweries here in NS do not give away free glassware, but do charge a small fee like $4.95. When I was in Ontario, many bigger pu...

Best beer logo's - branding
Which beer company sports the best logo - branding? I think it would be interesting to see if there is a clear choice or if it's spread out. Do we pick the branding for our favourite brew or do we think it's the best based on the branding itself. To throw out a few of my fav's; McAuslan's, Steam Whi...

Re: NOW's beer ignorance
[quote="Steve Spong"] "Best Brewery - Steamwhistle." I mean, honestly. Steven Davey should just stick to restaurants and not express opinions on anything to do with beer. Best to be thought a fool and keep your mouth shut than open it and remove all doubt.[/ quote] This could be ...
