Re: Washington DC / Northern Virginia suburbs

Few more thoughts... Pizza Paradiso Old Town - first visit. The pizza was good, not my favourite in the area which contains a lot of pizza/beer restaurants, but good. A little more "authentic" if you will. The draft prices were insane, however. A lot of imports and a mix of locals and othe...

Re: Washington DC / Northern Virginia suburbs

Was also back in Washington last week for Jays games and SAVOR events. Meridian Pint may be my new favourite spot in the area. The tap lists were amazing with some cellar cleaning and Founders/Fremont takeover. The staff was perhaps my favourite of any bar ever. The burgers and hot wings were excell...

However, the pros far outweigh the cons, as a upgrade will mean that everyone who is awaiting for account activation (sorry!) can just register on their own. And some of the features that this old board couldn't handle well (such as searching) should be good to go. Did this change? Registering stil...

Last time I bought 3F through her (end of November) I didn't have to buy anything else.

Probably. I was hoping they'd be less than a month old and I'd buy a pack for a bit of convenience. Driving over to Gatineau is no big deal anyway and I'm sure every Ottawa person here does it multiple times a month.

Finally saw Lone Pine cans in Ottawa. Hunt Club/Merivale. That's gotta be the best LCBO in Ottawa now (with Innes/Tenth I suppose, never been there though), no? They've been getting everything I can think of for months now and in large quantities. Significantly different than even just a year ago.

Remember liking NN more when it first hit the LCBO in bottles. Regardless, I'll be getting cans on the regular.

Beyond The Pale Pleasure Craft IPA - definitely their best IPA so far.

One I forgot to mention was Toolbox up in north county. Only been open a few months but the locals seem to be loving them. They had 5 or so brett offerings on tap plus a few sours and the usual high quality DIPA of that area. I wasn't overly impressed with everything, but it's a nice change of pace ...

Hit a couple more spots here this week... DC Brau - so does OTWOA not attract a huge crowd anymore? Cases upon cases of it sitting beside the cash and I was the only one in the brewery for hours. Good enough tasting room to hang out in for a bit, but not much of an atmosphere. Rustico Alexandria - s...

Returned to San Diego this past week. Some new spots for me this time... Stone Liberty Station - lucky timing as it was their Winter Storm event this week. Not quite as impressive as Escondido, but the outside area is a good spot in the sun (assuming you don't mind some noise as it's right at the en...

I've gotten 3F Geuze from them as recent as late November, but that's it. I think I annoyed her so much she just let me have it. I don't read French well, but the response was something of "okay, you can order this, but you should really consider helping me out with this other stuff." Whic...

Beyond The Pale Dark Night coffee stout w/ Bridgehead out today at the brewery. I bought 4, but yikes, $9/per...they're making Beau's one-offs seem like a bargain.
