I met Rob Creighton at the cask Harvest Pale Ale launch at the Bow last month. I'm pretty sure he told me they had done something to tweak Stonehammer, though to be honest I can't say I remember for sure exactly what it was. Rather than guessing, perhaps Rob could let us know?

Stonehammer Pilsner

I bought a sixer of the re-formulated Stonehammer Pilsner and I'm favourably impressed. I'd say it's as good as King Pilsner and better than Steamwhistle, even taking into account that Steamwhistle is much improved. Lager isn't my first love, but this is good. Have others tried the new Stonehammer?

Well no good - if it's electronic, people will assume it's current. Kind of discourteous. If they wish to attract business why don't they type a few keys and update the listing. Couldn't agree more. Particularly as they rotate their cask beers regularly. If there was some way of knowing what's on t...

I've been a bit underwhelmed by the Granville Island brews I've tried, to be honest. The English Bay Pale Ale, the Tenth Anniversary Ale.

Back to the original topic - I had my first Jenlain Ginger. It's a drain pour for me. Ugh! Those flavours just don't mix well on my palate. Very curious choice by the boffins at LCBO, but that's another topic.

Among others, we proposed 9 U.K beers and 3 U.S., none of which were selected
That's so disappointing, but par for the course I guess given what has been said previously about our friendly state monopolists. Thanks for your efforts and your comments, in any event.

They do not pasteurize their beer and therefore insist upon refreigated warehouse and retail storage
That's interesting. I was in Florida at Christmas and definitely bought some Sierra Nevada off a shelf in the middle of a store, i.e. not refrigerated in any way.

Not that great for us Wheat intolerant drinkers then
Not a great release in my view either. Too much wheat, too much fruit ... nothing from the entire UK, nothing from the entire USA (except yet another wheat), no bitters at all (what happened to Hop Back Summer Lightning, for instance).

Although I only get there once or twice a year, I'm also a fan of Hot Belly Mama's / Old Stone. I'll try to make a point of trying Old Veronus too.

As I posted in another thread, I had a pint of draught Blue Moon in Florida at Christmas time and rather enjoyed it. Every tap that converts from Canadian to Blue Moon is a positive development, in my view.

Keith's can be OK when in good condition, as pointed out elsewhere in the forum. Molson Stock is decent but harder to find than most micros, so that doesn't really answer the question. When trapped in a Labatt-only event, I generally have a Stella, as it is often available now with the Labatt/Interb...
