Re: So is $3.75 for a 355ml can the new norm in east Toronto?

I'd agree with the last point regarding more specialty offerings, but I can go get 12 Founders Centennials for $15 USD (about $20 CAD) or other comparably high quality beers for a similar price point. There's really nothing at a comparable price here except budget and macro brands, and a comparable...

Re: So is $3.75 for a 355ml can the new norm in east Toronto?

I think it's just supply and demand. My guess is LF is doing quite well and has a limited capacity, probably a bunch of debt, so price goes up. Burdock's prices are sky high. It makes business sense to produce lower volume and sell for a higher price, especially when you're operating in an urban env...

Yikes, Eephus used to be $2.90 for a tall boy at the LCBO. But in general I think prices will keep rising as the market grows.

Share how that one works for you. It's barely mentioned on here but Halcyon Barrel House do nice sour treatments & they have the distribution power of Beau's which seems to keep the price reasonable (ten bucks for this, very OK by me.) Will do. I picked it up based on yours and other praise I'v...

I looked order-able. But I stiffened up at the price.

Some of this is now available to order online at the discounted price. Same with Ten Fidy. Also grabbed an Infinity Mirror Brett IPA to round out the order.

Muskoka Winter Beard Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout. Somebody really screwed the pooch on this one. Thin, lifeless, and not worth nearly half the $13 or whatever asking price. I haven’t had this in a few years, but your description sounds about right. Overpriced and bland. Cool box though. I thin...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I got a 4 back of BCBS for US$24.99 in 2014, when they were in 12 oz bottles. Just walked into a bottle shop in Brooklyn and it was there.

Brunswick Bierworks

This place looks pretty promising with top tier collaboration partners and selling brews through the LCBO and a bottleshop/tap room. They said on Instagram that they will be having an opening event on Dec 7 which will feature collabs with: La Trappe, Mikkeller and Hopsteiner, plus "some rare pr...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I like the smaller format, but I'm guessing this comes with a cost per ml increase. My guess is this will be prices at $12.95 for a 500ml.

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I picked up a few of the Cameron's Where The Buffalo Roam based on the comments here. $6.95 for 473 ml of 13% barrel-aged barley wine sounds too good to be true. Hopefully lives up to the hype. Interesting packaging, a tall can inside a box.

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Passed by Hafis around 1, no line, but business was brisk with people struggling to walk out with 12+ bottles. Apparently there were 100 or so people waiting at noon. Sampled the BOYD and it seemed a little fresh. I think I am going to wait on these till next winter. The BOYD glass was irresistible.

Anyone tried the Barley Wine?

I found Cameron's last limited release ( Foeder-Aged Boreal Inspired Wild Ale) a little underwhelming.

I think I figured it out. They're trying to provoke an overreaction from the authorities to be used as a publicity stunt to raise awareness for their bar and the oppressive alcohol regulations in the province.

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

If KBS was $7.40 I can see the LCBO getting CBS for $8.50. (12 oz bottles). From what I can tell CBS was only released twice, and once was kegs only. So a format change wouldn't be a huge break from tradition.
