It's going to be interesting how the growlers is going to work. I can't see the LCBO staff filling on site. It will probably be the brewery providing pre-filled growlers. So do these growlers have to be tested? And sit in a warehouse for a couple of weeks? And then the beer is horrendous by the time...

That's not really even a step. Grocery stores yes, but max a 6 pack.... really? Costco might not even get involved at that level.

And another tax..... looks like I'm still buying in Quebec.

Although it's pretty pedestrian. I love seeing Whitewater getting into the LCBO. Local brewery from my hometown. Hopefully they get a nice lift out of this. I'll definitely buy some for guests at my house.

Re: Ontario bars want to sell takeout beer

I've been proposing this for ages, ever since I witnessed the phenomenon in the States. Bars and restaurants are already licensed, but why should you have to physically be in the venue to drink it? http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2015/04/07/ontario-bars-want-to-sell-takeout-beer.html I don't wan...

I'm sure if someone wanted to undertake the paperwork involved in a private order there would be ample participation. I for one have no idea what is involved, much why I'm apprehensive of attempting something. But usually when a distributor chimes in that they are willing to do a private order, it u...

It would be nice if the LCBO would drop the macros from their shelves and fill it with craft. That would provide a lot of shelf space for new good stuff.

LCBO's would then become more of a specialty beer store.

I fear that the macros just make up too much of it's sales to simply drop them.

[eaus B-Side La Formidable nice to have a Gigantic brewing beer in Ontario, had this on tap not generally a huge Beaus fan, but this was well done. Understand that the B-side stuff is Beaus brewing it but it's Gigantic's recipe. The idea is to allow outside brewers access to the Ontario market with...

The negotiation is between the three principal owners of the Beer Store and the Ontario government. Craft beer owners just have to accept whatever is decided upon and make a business plan on that. Sure they can get on their soap box and yell as loud as they want but unfortunately it`s like a mosquit...

what's that Simpsons' episode where Homer's told to not accept the first thing offered to him, repeats "don't accept the first offer," 3 times in his head, is offered something like a stick of gum and says "you've got a deal!"? negotiating's an art. the second you take crumbs, y...
