Why is this beer listed as a Kristalweizen on BeerAdvocate? KristalWeizen is german by style and this beer isn't German. It is an American WHeat Ale at best, and so the brewery says on the intro package we have at my LCBO location. They list it as an American Wheat. But even without that, one would...

IMHO here's another uninspired brewer stuck in a rut who is scared of experimenting. A lot of that fear must come from a low opinion of public acceptance of the look of raw unprocessed beer or the taste of intense micro beer. Clear bland wheatbeer is an abomination, but one that will undoubtedly no...

Re: Wellington Silver Wheat Ale
Is your advice only good for BAs? Is your warning for RBers different??? :) LOL! Sorry, I'll rephrase for Rate Beerians: "My advice to RBs - get on Rate Beer, give this a solid two-liner for ticking purposes, and make sure your score is no higher than 1.5!" :D He's here all night fo...

Wellington Silver Wheat Ale
C- / 2.65 look: 2.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 2.5 | feel: 3 | drink: 2.5 473ml can from the Silver Selection Pack, purchased at the LCBO. Not too long ago, Wellington was one of my favourite Ontario brewers, so I'm expecting a lot here. A: pale golden yellow, very marco-like, head subsides to a sliver of ...

Very good point. I always keep my girlfriend's camera on hand as well. Lately I've been drinking lots of picture-less OCB beers (Silver Wheat, Lemon Tea, Betelgeuse), so it's been getting plenty of use!phirleh wrote: Nikon d90 and a 50mm lens for pictures

Your Beer Paraphernalia
This thread walks that fine line between beer geekery and just being a bored loser. Anyway, I was wrapping up a session the other night and got to thinking about the equipment I use on a daily basis to help me enjoy good beer. Things like glassware, coasters, bottle openers, beer books, note sheets,...

Last night Cratez, Flood, Hegelec, and myself downed: Niagara's Best Brown Ale - A solid brown with grapey fruit and plumminess. Well hopped to provide balance with a dry almost chalky finish. A good effort. Niagara's Best Oatmeal Stout - Beer of the evening. Surprisingly pitch black opaque. Fresh ...

I was here just over a week ago. Grabbed a growler of the Rye Knot and a sixer of the Dortmunder, both solid if unspectacular beers. Service was excellent as the waitress gave me a 4oz sample of the rye beer before purchasing. They didn't have the Chuck Norris IPA ready yet, which was very disappoin...

Nickel Brook Strawberry White
B / 3.65 look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | drink: 4 Pint at The Black Shire in London, ON. When I asked what style of beer this is, the bartender merely described it as "the strawberry beer," so I was pleased to find that it's actually a flavoured witbier. A: rich and hazy or...

Nothing available at the LCBO/Beer Store will satisfy my hop fixes at this point. I see where you're coming from. To be honest, the first four that I listed are likely the only beers that can be considered true hop bombs. The rest just 'hold me over' until I'm able to drink stuff like Little Scrapp...
