I was hoping to pick the brains of the bartowel crowd. I want to get a nice hoppy beer in for my small superbowl party. My only concern is my guests might not appreciate, or even like, DFH 60 IPA or Southern Tier IPA. So my question is what's a good beer that's a safe bet? I was thinking maybe Cree...

the John By has been drinking like a champ this season. Im about 20 deep on my first case but I have a case waiting for me at my local LCBO. it may or may not be a "true" imperial stout but it is a very good stout however you look at it.

I had my first of this years batch the other day and to put it simple its a damn fine beer. The chocolate and roasted malt up front is very porter-like but the dark fruit and light spice adds complexity. Really nice stuff from this brewery lately.

Yes, but presumably it'll only be available at the brewery store.

(I'm not sure if they plan to keg any of it).
even still it will be worth a trip to get some or you could mail me some

Re: Sometimes dreams do come true...

So last week I got a PM from Jamie Mistry (at the Amsterdam brewery), saying that he was interested in attempting my doppelbock recipe and he requested some more details. Needless to say, I was ecstatic! They've got the ingredients together with no compromises and they're actually milling it today,...
