I downloaded a browser upgrade that killed bookmarks, passwords, etc. Can someone please tell me what my team's name is? That might trigger a memory so I can log in. Surely I'm at the bottom of that table and I've got Hamilton in the name.

Ta.

Re: Recent DISCOVERIES thread...

The Grand River Hannenberg Pils (Tap at CestWhat) takes me right back to the Bavarian countryside - an extremely pleasing German-style pilsner I'd be happy to enjoy any day. Your go! I had this at C'est on Saturday. It was a big surprise to me because I thought there'd be more of a hop nose to it. ...

Wow...envious. Mine has lessened in quantity as we prepared for the Ireland trip and what i removed wasn't replaced. It's half the size of the top picture, very dark, and cramped but it can fit a nice number of bottles and boxes. Additionally, it's consistently cool.

My pewter-lid steins come in handy in my attempts to ward off the next plague brought about by flies landing in my suds.

I brought a bunch back from when I lived in Germany. Good conversation pieces and I think we're going to use a couple as our vessels at the Winking Judge.

Still in Ireland but as I read this I was struck with the lack of mention of Winking Judge. Whatever one's thoughts on Bill's schtick, the place serves great beer. I wonder if he's pissed off hamilton's media.

Yeah, so far Tesco has been pretty good, as well as the other supermarket we went to. With the exchange I find the prices a bit comparable but then there are specials; I picked up an 8-pack of Tetley's bitter for 5.5pounds. We'd pay nearly that much for a pack of four.

Well, the first decent pub we found yesterday, on our way back from Armagh, and I had to pass on having a proper pint as I was driving and I'm still trying to get used to it. Our cousins here in Lurgan aren't the most "pub"lican of folk so they haven't had us out yet. Had a fine bottle yes...

Thanks all...the kids are 13 and 17 so a trip to Liverpool is definitely possible.

And I really meant whiskEy.

Thanks for the suggestions; the sentiment confirms what I was fearing. Maybe the assumed weight gain won't be a reality after all if I don't drink nearly as much as I thought I would.

Beer in Ireland

The family and I are heading over there this summer for 5 weeks; we're spending most of our time in the north for a wedding but will definitely be traveling around the rest of the island. I searched ratebeer for beers to consume beyond the typical ones but really came up empty. So, aside from Guinne...

Great timing on the Weihenstephaner, LOL!

That's ironic in the worst of ways; my naturopath frowns on the consumption of maltose but I told her I'd slow down a bit. Yours' is a different horse to ride.

I first drank Sam Adams at the time I was discovering craft beer and home brewing. I bought a 6 the same day I bought my homebrewing kit (a pilsner) and I loved it immediately. I was lucky that it became so big in Maine because I was able to enjoy most of its releases.

My grandfather's dandelion provided one of the worst cases of a hangover I've ever endured. That being said, I've wanted to replicate his recipe for some time now. Seems that it's too late this season.
