Just drank a fresh 10 Bitter Years. WOW. This is the first beer that truly made me think that Ontario could one day catch up to everyone else in the world of great bold craft beers.

Just poured a Black Oak Porter to chase it :P

Bells Hopslam

I had a Hopslam about 2 months ago and found that it was well past its prime. I can't imagine what yours would have tasted like given that it is about 9-10 months old at this point.

What did you think?

Not to mention the ABV content! Sometimes a few bombers and 750mls add up to a full 24 of cheap swill. That never occurred to me. I have always been told that the calculation took in to account cost and volume. Is there a point where the ABV is high enough that it is not considered to be "beer...

Every time I've crossed the Borders, they just ask what day we first crossed, not the time of crossing. So, you could cross at 10pm Friday, come back 11am Sunday, they will count that as 48 hours. That is my experience anyway. Good point. I usually fly over the border, so you have to check a box on...

Out in Mississauga, so here are the stores I frequent: Dundas & Mavis - A very good craft beer section. They generally get most or all of the seasonals. They also do a great job at regularly stocking most of the decent Ontario offerings (Flying Monkeys, Beau's, Mill Street, Black Oak, etc.). Ove...

So we are unlikely to see most of these until December? If so, that is very disappointing. Can the same be said for the Halloween release? No. Profound cynicism is par for the course in these parts. Some of the fall beers are already available, and you can rest assured that the rest will continue t...

Anyone know when the Belhaven Scottish Stout will be in stock? I just got a reply from an agent telling me to "check back in the new year." That sounds about right. Peak month for the fall release is December usually, with the remaining products rolling in around January. Also, the Wychcr...

Fresh as fresh can be 10 Bitter Years chilling in the fridge! Are they for sale at the brewery? Yep, I was the first to pick up a case (after Ken's mom) and after supping on one already, it's in fine form. See the thread in Events, "Bitter Day". Excellent. I know what I am doing tomorrow ...
